Tricks and tips to get the optimal vacation rental experience:

Get the most from your rental home budget:

  • To find the best value, try changing your group's trip dates to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and even October offer excellent temperatures, , and greatly reduced traffic. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Charleston area vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with friends and family at the beach.
  • In the Charleston area area, The sooner you can reserve a home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable vacation homes are reserved early. Reserving your vacation rental 6-12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to search for and reserve your vacation rental.
  • Some owners offer discounts for veterans and active duty military. Check with your property manager to see if special discounts are available for your group.
  • Property management companies frequently offer their guests an option to obtain vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which normally will cost you anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for more information.
  • Often, management companies and vacation rental houses supply Charleston area area visitor guide magazines which often include money-saving deals, either offered independently by local businesses, or through a relationship between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Charleston area visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.

Planning and picking the right Charleston area vacation home:

  • Select a group lead, select your trip dates, and choose a spending budget.
  • Note the number bedrooms and the bed configuration you need. The Julep Suite At Morrison Manor On Third Floor has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is generally available online. If they are not listed, email or call the property management company before reserving your rental. Note that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds in living rooms.
  • If there's a certain Charleston area destination you are enamored with, browse rentals that are either near by, or those that cater to your requirements.
  • Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. .
  • If your group is traveling with pets, you must book a pet-friendly rental. Get details on breed, weight, and type requirements. Some property owners require additional pet deposits and fees.

More tips for your visit:

  • We recommend storing the host's information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • To ensure that no damages are attributed to your stay, inspect the rental for any problem areas when you arrive. message the host right away to record any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having the recorded concerns and contact attempts will be valuable.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, stereo or coffee maker. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief call prevents many problems.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like loud visitors bothering your peaceful home life. Use the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great beaches and scenic spots you would've never otherwise known about!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can typically help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to enjoy a steak with a view, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fishing?
  • Protect the property owner (and your things!) by locking and securing the home while you are away, just like you would at home.
  • Double-check the rental property to make sure that you've packed all personal items at check-out. Check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Inspect the property one final time and scan for any damage. We recommend inspecting the property with the host whenever you can. If the manager is not available, remember to take video of the property to record its condition at check-out.
  • Leave a review! Property owners rely on excellent reviews to propel future bookings. They'll be thankful for your review. Alternatively, if something went awry, other vacationers will be thankful you shared your experience and help them have the best future vacation. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to fix it.
