Our top Vacation rental booking tips:
Sticking to your rental budget:
- Summer months are high season in Charleston. To book the best rental within your budget, we highly recommend booking in the Fall or Spring. You'll benefit from lower rates, better selection, warm weather and the absence of giant crowds at the beach and popular Charleston area attractions. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to book a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the Summer months. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Charleston area vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
- In the Charleston area area, The sooner you can reserve a home, the better your selection will be. The best vacation rentals are booked very early. Reserving your rental up to 12 months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner or host if your group qualifies for a special rate.
- Management companies and individual rental owners usually offer customers an option to buy trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any days missed as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for program terms and fees.
- Find a copy of your local Charleston area visitors guide magazine when you check-in. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local information, visitor guide magazines have deals for nearby accommodations and attractions.
Choosing and booking the right Charleston area vacation home:
- First and foremost, have your group select trip dates and a budget.
- Next To Bad Bunnies Coffee has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.

- If your group is traveling with pets, you must book a rental that allows animals. Get information on breed, weight, and type requirements. Some hosts charge pet deposits and fees.
Some things to know before you go:
- Review check in & check out procedures before leaving home. Save the directions to your phone, and take a printed backup.
- To make sure that damages are not attributed to your family's visit, make note of any problem areas during check in. Call the host immediately to relay any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute, having the recorded issues and contact attempts will be helpful.

- Respecting quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You will increase your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are usually an excellent resource to find the best local scenic spots.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Residents can often help. Who better to ask where to order delicious takeout, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
- Keep the property locked while you are out! Don't let thieves ruin your holiday.
- Re-check every room of the vacation property to confirm that you've packed everything at check-out. Remember to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Remember to leave feedback! Hosts rely on good ratings to stimulate future bookings. They'll be thankful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went awry, other vacationing families will appreciate that you share your feedback find their best vacation rental. Be fair with your review.
