Finding the best Isle of Palms vacation property experience:

Get the best rental home value:

  • June, July, and August are high season in Isle of Palms. To find the largest rental within budget, we suggest booking in Spring or Fall. You'll enjoy lower rates, greater selection, warm weather and the absence of large crowds at local restaurants, tours, and activities. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Charleston area vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with loved ones at the beach.
  • Reserve your vacation home as soon as possible. Rental schedules usually open a year in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many groups book their Summer vacation rentals during Thanksgiving and Christmas get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • Hosts and Property managers sometimes offer promotional rates for veterans. Ask your host or property manager if discounts are available for your group before you book.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners often offer their guests an option to add trip insurance. Trip insurance, which generally will cost you 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed vacation time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for program terms and fees.
  • Find a copy of your local Charleston area visitors guide when you check-in. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great local stories, visitors guide magazines have coupons for nearby tours and attractions.

Choosing and booking the rightvacation home:

  • Note the number bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration you need. Luxury Oceanfront Condo in WILD DUNES! Fully Renovated with Rooftop Balcony! has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Charleston area vacation rental search.
  • Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed types is regularly accessible on booking websites. Otherwise, email the property manager before you book the property. Remember that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes pull-out couches and bunk beds. You will need to determine what configuration is optimal for your group.
  • Visiting for a single event? Use a map search to find nearby rentals.
  • Suitable accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. Make certain to inquire about wheel chair entry, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
  • If your family is traveling with pets, you'll need to find a rental that allows animals. Ask for specifics on breed, size, and type restrictions. Usually, hosts charge additional pet fees.

More considerations:

  • Be sure you get the property manager's contact number and entry/exit procedures for your . We recommend storing the host's information in your smartphone.
  • At Check-in, record any issues with the rental property and immediately contact the property manager. Record all coorespondence.
  • Hosts are available to help! Feel free to ask any questions during your stay.
  • Be respectful of your neighbors. Often, surrounding homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Local residents can often help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to see a beautiful sunrise or sunset, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fishing?
  • Lock your rental while you're out. Keep your property safe!
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, take a walk through the rental property to confirm you've collected all belongings. Make sure to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • After your trip, leave feedback! Property owners rely on good ratings to stimulate more reservations. They'll be grateful for your review. Alternatively, if something went awry, other vacationers will be thankful you shared your feedback find their best rental home. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to remedy it.
