Our top Charleston rental booking tips and tricks:
Cost saving strategies:
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months in Charleston. To find the best value, try changing your family's Charleston area trip dates to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and October offer great temperatures, less crowded beaches, and reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during June, July, and August.
- Book your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules generally become available a year in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families reserve their Summer rental homes during Thanksgiving and Christmas get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager or host if your group qualifies for a price reduction or discount.
- Property management companies usually offer their guests an option to purchase trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed trip time as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for program terms and fees.
- Many management companies and vacation rental houses supply Charleston area area visitors guides that include coupons, either offered independently by local companies, or through a partnership between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Charleston area visitors guide and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
Planning and picking your prefect Charleston area rental:
- Select a designated group leader, choose your trip dates, and select a spending budget.
- Decide how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your group requires. Downtown Duplex - Coming St - Sleeps 20 has 6 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms.
- Specific information about bedrooms and bed counts & types is regularly accessible online. Otherwise, reach out to the property owner before you book the vacation home. Note that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull-out couches.
- Visiting for a single event or attraction? Use a map search to find nearby rentals.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. .
- If your group is vacationing with pets, you'll need to find a pet-friendly property. Ask for specifics on breed, size, and type requirements. Be aware that some hosts charge pet deposits and fees.
Tips to have a fantastic stay:
- Be sure you get the owner's phone number and arrival/departure procedures for your .
- To make certain damages aren't attributed to your family's visit, record any problem areas during arrival. E-mail the rental manager right away to report any issues. If there is a dispute, having the recorded problems and contact attempts will be helpful.
- Hosts are great sources of help! Feel free to ask any questions during your stay.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You will enhance your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are an excellent resource to find the best local attractions.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Locals can frequently help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to go for the best drinks, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Lock your rental while you are out and about. Keep your property safe!
- Upon check-out, take a walk-through to confirm you have not forget anything. Check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Walk through the property one final time and scan for damage. We recommend inspecting the property with the property manager whenever possible. If the property manager is not available, ensure that you take video of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- Leave feedback! Property managers rely on great reviews to propel more bookings. They'll be much obliged for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other vacationers will be thankful you shared your experience and help them have the best future vacation. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to fix it.
