Booking the best vacation home experience:

Find your best deal:

  • Summer months are high season in Charleston. To book the most suitable vacation home within budget, we recommend reserving in the Fall or Spring. You'll enjoy lower rental rates, better selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of large crowds at the beach and popular Charleston area attractions. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to reserve an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer months. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Charleston area vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with friends and family at the beach.
  • Book your vacation home as soon as possible. Rental schedules often open twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many groups book their Summer rental homes during Christmas and Thanksgiving get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Some owners offer discounts for veterans and active duty military. Make sure to check with your property manager to see if special discounts are available for your group before you book.
  • Property managers typically offer their guests an option to obtain vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which commonly costs 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for days missed as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for specifics.
  • Many property management companies and vacation rental houses supply Charleston area area visitors guides that include coupons, either offered directly by local companies, or by way of a relationship with the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Charleston area visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.

How to pick the perfect rental home in the Charleston area area:

  • Choose a designated group leader, choose your vacation week, and choose a maximum budget.
  • Sleeps 16! has 6 bedrooms and 6 bathrooms.
  • Specific details about bedrooms and bed counts & types is often accessible online. Otherwise, reach out to the property management company before reserving your rental. Remember that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds and bunks. You'll need to establish which bed configuration is right for your family.
  • Are you visiting for a single attraction or event? Use a map search to browse nearby rentals.
  • Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. .
  • If your group is traveling with pets, you'll need to search for a rental that allows animals. Ask for specifics on breed, weight, and type requirements. Often, property managers charge additional pet fees.

Know before you go:

  • Review check in & check out procedures before leaving home. Take a printed copy, and add a note with the directions to your phone.
  • Upon check-in, record any issues with the rental property and immediately contact the host. Record all coorespondence.
  • Hosts are great sources of help! Feel free to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like obnoxious vacationers disrupting your quiet neighborhood. Apply the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great restaurants and attractions you would have never otherwise known about!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Residents can typically help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to find the fresh catch of the day, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fishing?
  • Lock your rental home while you're out. Protect your property!
  • Double-check the property to confirm that you've packed all of your belongings at departure. Make sure to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Please make sure to walk through the rental a final time and scan for any damage. We suggest inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the host is not available, ensure that you take video of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
  • Remember to leave a review! Property managers rely on great feedback to propel new bookings. They'll be grateful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went awry, other families will be thankful you shared your experience find their best vacation home. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to remedy it.
