Tips to get the optimal rental home experience:
When to book & When to go:
- The sooner you can book a vacation home, the easier your search will be. The best rental homes are booked very early. Booking your rental property six to twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to search for and book your vacation rental.
- Summertime is the most expensive season in the Charleston area area. To find the best vacation home within budget, we suggest reserving in the Fall or Spring. You'll benefit from lower rates, better selection, warm weather and the absence of giant crowds at popular Charleston area attractions and restaurants. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to book a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during June, July, and August.
- Some property management companies offer discounts or promotional rates for veterans and active duty military. Make sure to check with your host or property manager to see if special offers are available for your family.
- Booking websites often offer their guests an option to purchase vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which costs 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed days as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for program terms and fees.
- Many rental management companies and vacation rental houses supply Charleston area area travel guides that include special deals, either offered independently by local companies, or through a relationship with the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Charleston area area magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
How to select the perfect rental home in the Charleston area area:
- Choose vacation dates and maximum budget.
- Note the number beds and the configuration your group needs. Serenity- 2 50th~ One of a kind Oceanfront Master Piece, Pool\/Hot Tub has 6 bedrooms and 6 bathrooms.
- Specific information about bedrooms and bed counts is often available on booking pages. Otherwise, call the property owner before reserving your rental. Note that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds. You will need to determine which bed configuration is right for your vacation family.
- Remember to include your furry companions! Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Ask your property manager before booking, and study your rental agreement! Pet fees or charges might be applied to your contract.
- If there's a particular Charleston area attraction you simply love, browse rentals that are either near by, or those that cater to your needs.
- Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. Make certain to inquire about wheel chair accessibility, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
Have a great stay:
- Get the property manager's phone number and entry/exit procedures for your rental property.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, intercom or WIFI setup. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief telephone call prevents a lot of concerns.
- Lock your rental home while you're out. Protect the owner's property and your stuff!
- To ensure that damages aren't attributed to your visit, inspect for any problem areas during check in. text the rental manager right away to report any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having a record of problems and contact attempts will be valuable.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You will enhance your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are often a terrific resource to find the best local attractions.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can typically point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to rent beach equipment, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fishing?
- When it's time to leave, take a walk-through to make sure you haven't leave anything behind. Remember to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Go through the rental a final time and look for any damage. We advise walking through with the host whenever possible. If the property manager is not available, take video and pictures of the property to record its condition.
- Remember to leave a review! Property managers rely on good ratings to propel future bookings. They'll be thankful for your review. Alternatively, if something went awry, other vacationing families will be thankful you shared your feedback find their best vacation rental. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to remedy it.
