We require the first half of your rental amount at the time of booking. The remainder of your rental amount will be due 45 days prior to your arrival. If you book within 45 days of your intended arrival, full payment is due at booking.
We offer travel insurance to all of our guests through Red Sky. Please e-mail for exact cost. We recommend getting travel insurance through us and not through Vacation Rental By Owner (CSA).
Each reservation is charged a $1,000 returnable security deposit. The security deposit will be charged/held the week leading up to your arrival, and will be entirely refunded within 30 days of your departure after we have inspected the home for any major damages. Sometimes this is done and returned quicker than 30days. This security deposit is not supplied in your quoted rate on Vacation Rental By Owner/Homeaway.
Family Animals are allowed with pre-approval. We limit to one huge dog or two modest, but may make an exception. There is a pet fee of $282.50 PER PET. Vacation Rental By Owner only accepts one pet fee to be added, so please let us know how many family pets you have in the notes when you reserve and we will make sure to add it to the contract before you sign.

Tips and Tricks to get the optimal Charleston area vacation property experience:
Get the most from your rental home budget:
- June, July, and August are high season in the Charleston area area. To book the most suitable rental within your budget, we highly recommend reserving in the Spring or Fall. You'll enjoy lower rates, better selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of large crowds at your favorite restaurants and activities.
- Book your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules generally become available 12 months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many groups book their Summer vacation rentals during Christmas and Thanksgiving gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective host if your family qualifies for a special rate.
- Management companies and individual rental owners typically offer their guests an option to add trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally will cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed trip time as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for additional information.
- Find a copy of your local Charleston area visitors guide upon arrival. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great local stories, travel guides have money saving offers on nearby accommodations, restaurants and tours.
Use filters to search efficiently:
- To start, have your group select vacation dates and a spending budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your group needs. 'Isle be Back' 5 57th Ave- Great Ocean Views, private pool, elevator has 6 bedrooms and 6 bathrooms.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is normally available online. If they are not listed, email or call the host before you book your rental. Note that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which usually includes pull out couches in living rooms.
- Visiting for a specific attraction? Use a map search to browse nearby properties.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. .
- If your group is bringing pets, you will need a property that allows animals. Ask for details on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Some hosts require additional pet deposits and fees.
Advice for a great stay:
- Review arrival and departure procedures before leaving home. Take a printed copy, and add a note with the directions to your phone.
- Record any issues with the property upon arrival, and immediately contact the owner. We especially recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain time stamps that are useful if a dispute arises.
- Hosts are great sources of help! Don't be shy to ask questions during your stay.
- Be a good neighbor. Often, surrounding homes are filled by local residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking policies is the right thing to do.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Local residents can typically help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to take kids for a treat, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Keep your rental home locked while you're out! Don't let thieves ruin your family vacation.
- On check-out day, complete a walk-through to confirm you didn't forget any personal items. Make sure to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Did you have a excellent vacation? Most rental home management companies make it easy for guests to provide feedback. If your property and/or property management company was wonderful, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was defective and they failed to correct it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
