Tips and Tricks to get the very best Charleston area vacation property experience:
When to go & When to reserve a rental home:
- June, July, and August are high season in Charleston. Book your Charleston area rental home in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons to enjoy gorgeous weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Charleston area vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with loved ones at your favorite beach.
- Reserve your vacation home as soon as possible. Rental schedules often become available twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many families reserve their Summer vacations during Christmas and Thanksgiving get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Some owners offer discounts for veterans. Remember to ask your property manager if special offers are available for your group.
- Booking websites often offer customers an option to purchase trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which commonly costs 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed days as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for additional information.
- Often, rental management companies and vacation rental houses supply Charleston area area visitor guides which will include special deals, either offered independently by local companies, or through a relationship with the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Charleston area visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
Make a plan and choose the best Charleston area vacation home:
- First, have your family select trip dates and a budget.
- Determine how many beds and the configuration your group requires. Harleston Village 3-Bedroom Townhouse in Historic Charleston! has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Charleston area rentals search.
- Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed counts is often accessible online. If you don't see them listed, email or call the property management company before you reserve the rental. Remember that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds.
- Visiting for a single event or attraction? Use a map search to browse nearby rentals.
- Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with a disability. Confirm all required amenities are included before booking.
- If your family is vacationing with pets, you must book a pet-friendly property. Request information on breed, size, and type requirements. Note that some property owners charge pet deposits and fees.
Have a fantastic stay:
- Put the host's information in your smartphone.
- To ensure that no damages are linked to your family's stay, record any problem areas during check in. message the host right away to report your findings. If there is a dispute, having the recorded issues and contact attempts will be helpful.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, stereo or coffee maker. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief telephone call can prevent a lot of concerns.
- Respect your neighbors. Often, adjacent homes are filled by local residents. Respecting noise limits and parking regulations can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Local residents can usually point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to order the best nachos, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Keep the property locked while you're out! Don't let crooks ruin your trip.
- Double-check the vacation property to confirm that you've packed all personal items at departure. Remember to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Walk through the property one final time and look for any damage. We suggest walking through with the property manager whenever you can. If the property manager isn't available, take video and pictures of the rental to record its condition.
- Did you have a excellent time? Most rental home management companies make it easy for customers to provide comments. If your rental property and/or property management company was great, they would love to hear it. If anything was imperfect and they failed to fix it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
