Strategies to get the optimal vacation property experience:

How to get the best value:

  • The earlier your group can reserve a home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable vacation rentals are booked very early. Booking your rental home six - twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and book your vacation home.
  • Summertime is the most expensive season along the coast of SC. Booking a rental in the Fall or Spring is our favorite way to save money on your vacation rental. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of desirable homes. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer months.
  • Property management companies sometimes offer rate reductions for active duty military and veterans. Ask your host or property manager if special offers are available for your group before you book.
  • Property managers usually offer guests an option to obtain trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for days missed as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for program terms and fees.
  • Many property management companies supply Charleston area area travel guides which will include coupons, either offered independently by local businesses, or by way of a partnership between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Charleston area visitors guide and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.

Use filters to narrow your rental search:

  • Start by selecting your vacation dates and a budget.
  • Decide how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your group needs. Rooftop Deck with Parking - 3 Blocks to KING! has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our search.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is usually accessible on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, email the property management company before booking the home. Remember that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes pull-out couches and bunk beds.
  • If your group is bringing pets, you'll need to search for a pet-friendly rental. Request details on breed, weight, and type requirements. Usually, hosts charge pet deposits and fees.
  • Visiting for a specific event? If so, use a map search to locate nearby rentals.
  • Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Confirm all required amenities are available before reserving a rental

Have a fantastic stay:

  • Be sure you get the owner's contact number and check in/check out procedures for your rental home.
  • Hosts are great sources of help! Don't be shy to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Protect the rental owner (and your things!) by locking the property when you are away, just like you would back home.
  • To make certain that damages aren't attributed to your stay, make a record of any problem areas during arrival. Contact the property manager right away to document any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute, having a record of concerns and contact attempts will be useful.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like troublesome visitors disrupting your peaceful home. Practice the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great beaches and scenic spots you would've never otherwise known!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Residents can often help. Who better to ask where to take kids for a treat, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
  • Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, walk through the rental to reconfirm you've collected everything. Re-check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • Leave feedback! Hosts rely on good ratings to stimulate new reservations. They'll be much obliged for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other vacationers will will be grateful for your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to solve it.
