Tips to get the perfect rental experience:
Get the most from your budget:
- Summer months are high season in the Charleston area area. Booking your Charleston area vacation rental in Spring or Fall is our favorite way to save money on your rental home. Rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of acceptable properties. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to book an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the high season.
- Book your vacation rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules generally open a year in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families reserve their Summer vacations during holiday get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Property management companies sometimes offer special rates for veterans. Ask your host or property manager if special offers are available for your family.
- Management companies and individual rental owners frequently offer renters an option to purchase vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally will cost between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for days missed as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for specifics.
- Find a copy of your local Charleston area visitors guide upon checking in. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great articles, travel guides contain offers and deals for local tours and attractions.
Planning, selecting, and booking your Charleston area vacation home:
- To start, have your group choose date ranges and a maximum budget.
- Restored Masterpiece has 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
- Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed counts is normally accessible online. If you don't see them listed, email the property management company before reserving your rental. Note that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds. You will need to determine what bed configuration is right for your vacation.
- Visiting for a specific attraction? Use a map search to locate nearby properties.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. Make certain to inquire about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
- If your family is bringing pets, you'll need to search for a pet-friendly property. Request information on breed, size, and type requirements. Some property managers require additional pet deposits and fees.
More considerations for your visit:
- We recommend storing the host's contact information in your smartphone.
- To ensure that no damages are linked to your family's stay, inspect the property for any problem areas during check in. message the host right away to relay your findings. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having a record of issues and contact attempts will be useful.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, A/V setup or kitchen appliance. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief phone call can prevent a lot of difficulties.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disagreeable visitors disrupting your life at home. Employ the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great restaurants and scenic spots you would've not otherwise known about!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Local residents can typically help. Who better to ask where to go for the best drinks, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
- Keep your rental home locked while you are out! Don't let burglars spoil your holiday.
- When it's time to leave, take a final walk-through to make sure you have not forget anything. Remember to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Go through the property one final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We advise walking through with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the host is not available, remember to take video of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- Did you have a great stay? Most rental home management companies make it easy for vacationers to provide comments. If your rental and/or property management company was great, they would love to hear it. If anything was inoperable and they failed to address it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
