Tips to get the best Charleston area vacation home experience:

Finding your perfect vacation home:

  • In the Charleston area area, The earlier your group can reserve a vacation rental, the better your selection will be. The most desirable vacation rentals are booked very early. Reserving your vacation rental up to twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to search for and book your rental home.
  • Summer is high season in the Charleston area area. Reserve your Charleston area rental property in the Fall or Spring to enjoy beautiful weather while saving money and avoiding crowds. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Charleston area vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with friends and family at your favorite beach.
  • Property management companies sometimes offer discounts for veterans and active duty military. Check with your property manager to see if rate reductions are available for your family.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners usually offer renters an option to buy trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed vacation time as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for specifics.
  • Many management companies supply Charleston area area visitors guide magazines which often include special deals, either offered directly by local businesses, or by way of a relationship between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Charleston area visitors guide and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.

How to pick the perfect vacation home in the Charleston area area:

  • Choose a group leader, choose your vacation week, and select a maximum budget.
  • Stunning Modern Home Near Beach w\/ Two Kitchens has 5 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is regularly available on booking websites. Otherwise, call the property manager before you book your home. Remember that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds.
  • Some rentals allow pets, but some do not. Acceptable types of dog or cat, weight and breeds may be restricted, and added fees may apply. Ask the property manager about your furry family members before booking.
  • If there's a specific Charleston area beach you long to visit, keep an eye out for properties that are either near by, or those that cater to your requirements.
  • Suitable accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Make certain to inquire about wheel chair entry, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.

Know before you go:

  • Be sure you get the property manager's contact number and entry/exit procedures for your rental. Store the host's contact information in your smartphone.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, television set or WIFI setup. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief phone call can prevent lots of problems.
  • Ensure you protect the rental owner (and your stuff!) by locking the property while you are gone, just like you would back home.
  • Upon arrival, make note of any damages to the property and immediately contact the host. Record all coorespondence.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like unpleasant visitors disrupting your home life. Employ the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great restaurants and scenic spots you would have never otherwise known!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can usually help. Who better to ask where to find the best bike paths, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
  • Re-check the vacation property to confirm that you've packed everything at check-out. Remember to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Inspect the rental a final time and look for damage. We advise walking through with the host whenever you can. If the property manager is not available, remember to take video of the rental to record its condition.
  • Did your family have a excellent time? Many rental managers make it easy for guests to provide reviews. If your property and/or property manager was terrific, they would love to hear it. If anything was wrong and they failed to correct it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
