Tricks and tips for getting the best vacation property experience:
Find your perfect vacation home:
- In the Charleston area area, The earlier your group can reserve a home, the easier your search will be. The best vacation homes are booked early. Booking your rental six to twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental property.
- June, July, and August are high season in the Charleston area area. To find the best value, change your family's Charleston area trip dates to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and October offer warm temperatures, , and greatly reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to reserve an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during June, July, and August. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Charleston area vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with family and friends at your favorite beach.
- Some hosts offer discounts for veterans. Make sure to check with your host or property manager to see if rate reductions are available for your group.
- Booking websites usually offer their guests an option to add trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for program terms and fees.
- Often, management companies and vacation rental houses supply Charleston area area visitor guides which will include special deals, either offered directly by local businesses, or by way of a relationship with the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Charleston area area magazine and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
Make a plan and pick your prefectrental home:
- Select a group leader, select your trip dates, and select a spending budget.
- Decide how many beds and the bed configuration your family requires. ? THE INNS ? Bright & Breezy Large Luxury Suite! has 5 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rentals search.
- Specific information about bedrooms and bed counts & types is often available on booking pages. If they are not listed, contact the host before reserving the vacation property. Note that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes pull out couches in living rooms. You will need to establish what configuration is right for your vacation family.
- If your family is vacationing with pets, you must book a pet-friendly rental. Ask for information on breed, size, and type requirements. Note that some property owners charge pet deposits and fees.
- Is your group looking for specific amenities? Most rental search websites include search filters for amenities. Amenity filters help you quickly remove less-optimal properties.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. Confirm all necessary amenities are included before booking.
More considerations:
- We recommend storing the owner's information in your smartphone.
- Hosts are available to help! Feel free to ask questions during your stay.
- Keep the property locked while you're out! Don't let burglars ruin your family vacation.
- To make certain damages are not linked to your visit, make note of any problem areas during check in. message the host immediately to report any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute, having a record of problems and contact attempts will be very helpful.
- Be respectful. Often, adjacent homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting noise limits and parking policies reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Locals can frequently help. Who better to ask where to grab the best tacos, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Double-check every room of the rental property to make sure that you've packed all belongings at departure. Check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Go through the rental a final time and look for damage. We advise walking through with the property manager whenever you can. If the host isn't available, take pictures of the property to record its condition.
- After your trip, leave a review! Hosts rely on great reviews to stimulate more bookings. They'll be grateful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other families will will be grateful for your review and help them have the best future vacation. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to fix it.
