Booking the best Charleston rental experience:
How to get the best rental value:
- To get the best value, consider changing your family's Charleston area vacation to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and October offer warm weather, less crowded beaches, and greatly reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during June, July, and August.
- Reserve your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules generally open 12 months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many families book their Summer rental homes during Christmas and Thanksgiving get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner or host if your family qualifies for a reduced rate.
- Property management companies frequently offer renters an option to obtain vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which generally will cost you 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for details.
- Look for your local Charleston area area magazine when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great local stories, travel guide magazines contain money saving offers on local attractions, tours, restaurants, and shops.
Narrow your rental Search:
- Choose a group leader, select your vacation week, and choose a spending budget.
- 3 King Beds has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Charleston area rentals search.
- Specific information about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is generally accessible on booking websites. If they are not listed, call the host before booking the home. Note that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds.
- Visiting for a specific attraction? Use a map search to find nearby rentals.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for persons with a disability. Confirm all required amenities are available before reserving a rental.
- If your group is traveling with pets, you'll need to book a pet-friendly vacation rental. Request specifics on breed, size, and type restrictions. Usually, property managers require additional pet deposits and fees.
Know before you go:
- Review arrival and departure procedures before traveling. Take a printed copy, and save the directions to your phone.
- To make sure no damages are attributed to your family's stay, inspect the rental for any problem areas during check in. Get in touch with the property manager right away to report any issues. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having the recorded problems and contact attempts will be useful.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, television set or WIFI setup. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief phone call prevents many issues.
- Respect your neighbors. Often, surrounding homes are filled by local residents. Respecting noise limits and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can usually help. Who better to ask where to grab the best tacos, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fishing?
- Lock your vacation home while you are out and about. Keep your property safe!
- Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, walk through the rental property to make sure you've collected everything. Check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Go through the property one final time and look for any damage. We advise inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can. If the host is not available, ensure that you take video and pictures of the property to record its condition.
- Leave a review! Hosts rely on good ratings to stimulate new bookings. They'll be thankful for your review. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other vacationing families will be thankful you shared your review and help them have the best future vacation. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to fix it.
