Charleston area vacation rental booking tips:
Finding your perfect rental:
- The sooner you can reserve a vacation home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable properties are reserved very early. Booking your vacation rental up to 12 months before your vacation is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and reserve your vacation home.
- Summer time is high season in the Charleston area area. Booking your Charleston area vacation rental in Fall or Spring months is our best tip for saving money on your vacation home. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of acceptable homes.
- Hosts sometimes offer discounts or promotional rates for veterans. Remember to ask your property manager if special discounts are available for your family before you book.
- Property managers usually offer guests an option to add trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally will cost between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed trip time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for more information.
- Many management companies and vacation rental houses supply Charleston area area travel guide magazines which will include special offers, either offered directly by local companies, or by way of a partnership between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Charleston area visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
Selecting and booking your prefectrental:
- First and foremost, have your group select dates and a spending budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your family needs. The Dewberry Suite At Morrison Manor
- Precise information about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is usually accessible on booking websites. If not, contact the property owner before you book your home. Note that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds in living rooms. You will need to establish what is suitable for your vacation group.
- Some rentals allow pets, and others do not. Acceptable types of family pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and additional fees may apply. Ask the property manager about pets before booking.
- Looking for unique amenities? Most rental search websites include amenity lists and search filters. Filtering by amenity will allow you to quickly find the best rental home.
- Proper accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for those with limited mobility. Make certain to ask about wheel chair entry, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
More considerations:
- Take a copy of the owner's phone number and check in/check out procedures for your rental. Store the host's contact information in your smartphone.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, intercom or thermostat. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief phone call can prevent many problems.
- Protect the property owner (and your stuff!) by locking the property while you are away, just like you would back home.
- To make certain that damages are not linked to your family's stay, inspect the property for any problem areas upon check in. text the property manager immediately to record any issues. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having a record of problems and contact attempts will be very helpful.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll magnify your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are usually a terrific source for finding the best local beaches and hangouts.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Local residents can often help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to grab the best tacos, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Re-check the vacation property to make sure that you've packed all of your belongings on check-out day. Re-check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Did your family have a wonderful time? Most rental managers make it easy for travelers to provide comments. If your property and/or property management company was wonderful, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was amiss and they failed to address it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
