Our top Rental booking tips:

Find your perfect rental:

  • To get the best value, shift your group's vacation week to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and October offer excellent temperatures, fewer crowds, and greatly reduced traffic.
  • Reserve your vacation rental as early as possible. Rental schedules generally become available twelve months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many families reserve their Summer rental homes during Christmas and Thanksgiving get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective vacation rental company or host if your group qualifies for a special rate.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners typically offer their guests an option to purchase trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any days missed as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for specifics.
  • Find a copy of your local visitors guide upon arrival. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great local information, visitors guides have offers and deals for local tours, shops, and attractions.

Narrow your Search:

  • Select dates and maximum budget.
  • Note the number beds and the configuration your family requires. Blackberry Suite At Morrison Manor On Second Floor has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed types is usually available on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, email the property owner before you book the vacation property. Remember that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds and bunks.
  • Looking for special amenities? Most websites include amenity lists and search filters. Amenity filters help you quickly remove less-optimal properties.
  • Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. Make certain to inquire about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
  • Some rental properties allow pets, and some don't. Acceptable types of dog or cat, size and breeds may be restricted, and added costs may apply. Ask the property manager about your furry family members before booking.

Advice for a smooth stay:

  • Put the manager's information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • Note any issues with the property during check in, and immediately send them to the owner. We especially recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain time stamps that are very helpful if a dispute arises.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, television set or washer/dryer. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief text message can prevent a lot of concerns.
  • Respecting quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll magnify your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are usually an incredible source for finding the best local beaches and restaurants.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Local residents can frequently point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to rent beach equipment, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
  • Keep the property locked while you are gone! Don't let thieves spoil your holiday.
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, walk through the rental property to reconfirm you've collected everything. Make sure to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • Did you have a great vacation? Most rental managers make it easy for customers to provide reviews. If your rental and/or property management company was fantastic, they would love to hear it. If anything was imperfect and they failed to correct it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
