About this Property

- 1 Bathrooms
- Private vacation home
- Approximately 220 square feet
Our tiny home tries really hard to be as marvelous as the cedar tree it sits next to. It even dressed itself in fancy cedar siding and lathered itself with tung oil. And although its efforts may have failed (it s hard to top mother nature), a definite theme has been born. Runner-up names included Hail Cedar! and 20,000 Leagues Beneath the Cedar.
Conveniences:
- Comfy queen in loft & West Elm futon in living area
- Fans and white noise in the loft
- AC & heat that work wonderfully
- Full kitchen and bath
- Two cruiser bicycles
- Upgraded beach package: Solbello beach shade, two nice beach chairs, two Turkish beach towels, Hydroflask cooler tote, mesh beach bag
- Hammock
- Outdoor patio with two cushioned couches
- Unique board games designed for two-person play
- Full length mirror
- Alexa-enabled bluetooth speaker
- Modest book collection
The bicycles are especially great, because there are a few eateries and a music venue within a leisurely five min. ride. More on that later. Now, onto the home:
It s tiny! But it doesn t feel that way. The light color of the bamboo floor, the many windows and the high ceilings help to open it up. The loft holds a queen-sized bed, which sits low to the floor on tatami mats. There is a full bath with a rain-down shower, air vent, and cloth curtain door. There is a completely functional kitchen, with gas stove and microwave. There is a desk/table and a very comfortable futon couch that opens to sleep an (additional) adult or two kids (who are very welcome). The futon, when pulled out, measures 82” x 45.”
Conveniences for daily living abound: fast wi-fi; soaps, towels & bed linens; cookware; electrical kettle; coffee maker and french press; a selection of teas, Trader Joe's dark roast coffee; wine glasses and a wine opener, champagne glasses, pepper grinder, kosher salt, olive oil, honey, etc. If you are in need of anything, just ask!
The home sits on the front left corner of our property and is surrounded on three sides by a privacy fence. The front faces the driveway, which is where you'll pull up and park (left side). In effect, because of the tall fence, guests have an entire property with yard and driveway to themselves. Simple, keyless entry and a flood light that comes on if you arrive at nighttime.

Tips and Tricks to get the perfect Charleston vacation property experience:
Sticking to your budget:
- Summer is high season in the Charleston area area. To get the most suitable rental within budget, we suggest booking in the Fall or Spring. You'll enjoy lower rates, better selection, beautiful weather and the absence of large crowds at local restaurants, tours, and activities. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during June, July, and August. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Charleston area vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with friends and family at your favorite beach.
- Reserve your vacation home as soon as possible. Rental schedules usually become available a year in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many groups book their Summer rental homes during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner or host if your vacationing group qualifies for a special promotion or discount.
- Management companies and individual rental owners typically offer their guests an option to obtain trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which generally will cost you anywhere between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for details.
- Many rental management companies and vacation rental houses supply Charleston area area travel guide magazines that include money-saving offers, either offered independently by local companies, or through a partnership between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Charleston area visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
Use filters to search efficiently:
- Choose a designated group leader, choose your vacation week, and choose a maximum budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and the configuration you need. A sweet tiny house in a great location, with bikes and beach amenities. has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Charleston area vacation rental search.
- Specific details about bedrooms and bed counts is normally accessible on booking pages. Otherwise, email or call the host before you book your home. Remember that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds.
- If there's a specific Charleston area destination you long to visit, look for properties that are either close by, or those that cater to your requirements.
- Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. Remember to confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before reserving a rental
- Traveling with pets? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your rental agreement! Extra fees or charges applied to your invoice.
Some things to know before you go:
- Review check in & check out procedures before traveling. Take a printed copy, and save the directions to your smartphone.
- Upon check-in, document any issues with the property and immediately alert the property manager. Record all correspondence in case a dispute arises.
- Hosts are there to help! Feel free to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like unpleasant vacationers bothering your peaceful home life. Apply the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great restaurants and attractions you would've never otherwise known!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Residents can often help. Who better to ask where to find the best bike paths, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
- Protect the rental owner (and your things!) by keeping the rental locked up when you are out, just like you would at home.
- Double-check the rental property to make sure that you've packed all personal items at check-out. Remember to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Did you have a excellent vacation? Most rental websites make it easy for guests to provide feedback. If your rental and/or host was wonderful, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was inoperable and they failed to correct it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
