About this Property

  • Sleeps 3
  • 1 Bedrooms
  • 1 Bathrooms
  • Private vacation home
  • Approximately 220 square feet

Our tiny home tries really hard to be as phenomenal as the cedar tree it sits next to. It even dressed itself in fancy cedar siding and lathered itself with tung oil. And although its efforts may have failed (it s hard to top mother nature), a definite theme has been born. Runner-up names included Hail Cedar! and 20,000 Leagues Beneath the Cedar.

Conveniences:
- Comfy queen in loft & West Elm futon in living area
- Fans and white noise in the loft
- AC & heat that work wonderfully
- Full kitchen and bath
- Two cruiser bicycles
- Upgraded beach package: Solbello beach shade, two nice beach chairs, two Turkish beach towels, Hydroflask cooler tote, mesh beach bag
- Hammock
- Outdoor patio with two cushioned couches
- Unique board games designed for two-person play
- Full length mirror
- Alexa-enabled bluetooth speaker
- Modest book collection

The bicycles are especially great, because there are a few eateries and a music venue within a leisurely five min. ride. More on that later. Now, onto the home:

It s tiny! But it doesn t feel that way. The light color of the bamboo floor, the many windows and the high ceilings help to open it up. The loft holds a queen-sized bed, which sits low to the floor on tatami mats. There is a full bath with a rain-down shower, air vent, and cloth curtain door. There is a completely functional kitchen, with gas stove and microwave. There is a desk/table and a very comfortable futon couch that opens to sleep an (additional) adult or two kids (who are very welcome). The futon, when pulled out, measures 82” x 45.”

Conveniences for daily living abound: fast wi-fi; soaps, towels & bed linens; cookware; electrical kettle; coffee maker and french press; a selection of teas, Trader Joe's dark roast coffee; wine glasses and a wine opener, champagne glasses, pepper grinder, kosher salt, olive oil, honey, etc. If you are in need of anything, just ask!

The home sits on the front left corner of our property and is surrounded on three sides by a privacy fence. The front faces the driveway, which is where you'll pull up and park (left side). In effect, because of the tall fence, guests have an entire property with yard and driveway to themselves. Simple, keyless entry and a flood light that comes on if you arrive at nighttime.

Booking the best vacation rental experience:

How to get the best rental value:

  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months in Charleston. To find the largest rental home for your budget, we recommend reserving in Fall or Spring. You'll benefit from lower rental rates, better selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of large crowds at local restaurants, tours, and activities. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to book a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer months. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Charleston area vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with family and friends at your favorite beach.
  • Reserve your rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules generally become available twelve months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many families book their Summer rentals during Christmas and Thanksgiving gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Some property management companies offer discounts or promotional rates for veterans and active duty military. Make sure to check with your property manager to see if rate reductions are available for your family before you book.
  • Booking websites typically offer customers an option to buy trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed trip time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for program terms and fees.
  • Many property management companies supply Charleston area area visitors guide magazines which often include special deals, either offered independently by local businesses, or through a relationship between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Charleston area area magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.

How to pick the perfect rental home in the Charleston area area:

  • Select your vacation week and budget.
  • Determine how many beds and the bed configuration you need. A sweet tiny house in a great location, with bikes and beach amenities. has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
  • Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed counts & types is generally accessible on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, email or call the property manager before reserving the property. Note that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes pull-out couches and bunk beds. You'll need to establish what configuration is suitable for your vacation group.
  • Does your group require unique amenities? Most websites include search filters with amenity lists. Filtering by amenity will allow you to quickly find the best rental home.
  • Suitable accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. Confirm all required amenities are included before booking.
  • If your family is traveling with pets, you must book a pet-friendly vacation rental. Get information on breed, size, and type restrictions. Usually, property managers charge additional pet fees.

Some things to know before you go:

  • Put the owner's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • To ensure that no damages are attributed to your family's stay, inspect the rental for any problem areas upon check in. Call the property manager right away to relay any issues. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having a record of concerns and contact attempts will be useful.
  • Hosts are there to help! Feel free to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Don't forget to respect your neighbors. Often, nearby homes are filled by local residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking regulations is the right thing to do.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Locals can typically help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to find the best bike paths, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
  • Ensure you protect the rental owner (and your things!) by locking and securing the home when you are away, just like you would back home.
  • Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, walk through the property to make sure you've collected everything. Remember to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Go through the property a final time and scan for damages to contents or the property itself. We suggest inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can. If the host is not available, ensure that you take photos and video of the rental to record its condition.
  • Did your family have a wonderful time? Many vacation rental websites make it easy for travelers to provide reviews. If your rental and/or property manager was fantastic, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was imperfect and they failed to correct it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
