Finding the best Isle of Palms rental experience:

Cost saving strategies:

  • Summer months are the most expensive season along the coast of SC. Booking a rental in Fall or Spring is our best tip for saving money on your vacation home. Rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of desirable homes.
  • Reserve your vacation rental as early as possible. Rental schedules often become available a year in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many families book their Summer rental homes during holiday gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective host if your family qualifies for a reduced rate.
  • Property managers frequently offer their guests an option to buy vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed vacation time as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for more information.
  • Often, rental management companies supply Charleston area area visitor guide magazines which include special deals, either offered directly by local businesses, or by way of a relationship between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Charleston area visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.

Filter your search:

  • Begin by selecting vacation dates and a maximum budget.
  • Determine how many beds and the configuration your group needs. Adorable Family Beach Home! Close to the Beach! Community Pool & Tennis! has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is almost always available online. If not, email the property manager before you book the property. Remember that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds and bunks.
  • Looking for specific amenities? Most rental websites include search filters for amenities. Filtering by amenity will allow you to quickly find your ideal rental.
  • Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. Make certain to inquire about wheel chair accessibility, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
  • Are you traveling with furry, four-legged family members? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Ask your host before booking, and study your agreement! Additional fees or could be applied to your agreement.

Additional considerations:

  • Review check in & check out procedures before traveling. Take a printed copy, and add a note with the directions to your phone.
  • Make a record of any damages to the rental upon arrival, and immediately e-mail them to the host. We especially recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain time stamps that are helpful if a dispute is filed.
  • Property managers are there to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Respect the neighborhood. Frequently, adjacent homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking rules is the right thing to do.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Local residents can typically help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to get the best breakfast in town, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
  • Ensure you protect the owner (and your things!) by keeping the rental locked up when you are out, just like you would at home.
  • Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, take a walk through the rental property to make sure you've collected all of your things. Re-check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • After your trip, leave feedback! Property managers rely on excellent reviews to compel more bookings. They'll be thankful for your review. Alternatively, if something went awry, other vacationing families will appreciate that you share your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to solve it.
