Booking the best Charleston rental experience:

Cost saving strategies:

  • Booking your vacation rental in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons is one of our best tips for saving money on your vacation. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of suitable homes.
  • In the Charleston area area, The earlier you can reserve a vacation home, the better your selection will be. The best rental homes are reserved early. Booking your rental 6-12 months before your vacation is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to plan and reserve your vacation rental.
  • Owners sometimes offer discounts for active duty military and veterans. It's always a good idea to check with your property manager to see if discounts are available for your group before you book.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners typically offer renters an option to obtain vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed trip time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for details.
  • Find a copy of your local Charleston area visitors guide magazine when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great articles, visitor guides have deals for local accommodations and attractions.

How to choose the best rental home in the Charleston area area:

  • First, have your family agree to trip dates and a budget.
  • Note the number bedrooms and the configuration your group requires. Luxury 3BR\/ 2.5 BA Townhouse on James Island has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Charleston area rental home search.
  • Precise details about bedrooms and bed types is often accessible on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, email the property manager before you reserve the rental. Remember that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds in living rooms. You'll need to work out which bed configuration is optimal for your vacation family.
  • If there's a particular Charleston area destination you simply love, search for rentals that are either close by, or those that cater especially to your requirements.
  • Proper accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. Confirm all necessary amenities are included before reserving a rental.
  • If your family is traveling with pets, you must book a pet-friendly vacation rental. Request specifics on breed, size, and type requirements. Some property owners require additional pet deposits and fees.

Tips for your stay:

  • Get the owner's contact number and check in/check out procedures for your rental home. We recommend storing the host's information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • To make sure damages are not linked to your visit, inspect the rental for any problem areas upon check in. E-mail the host immediately to report any issues. If there is a dispute, having the recorded problems and contact attempts will be helpful.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, A/V setup or kitchen appliance. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief phone call prevents a lot of problems.
  • Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. You will magnify your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are often a fantastic source for finding the best local scenic spots.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Neighbors can usually point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to order delicious takeout, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
  • Keep your rental home locked while you're gone! Don't let thieves ruin your vacation.
  • Re-check the rental property to confirm that you've packed everything at check-out. Re-check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • Did your family have a excellent time? Many vacation rental websites make it easy for guests to provide comments. If your rental property and/or property manager was great, they would love to hear about it. If anything was defective and they failed to fix it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
