GUEST NOTE and DISCLAIMER: This apartment is located on a busy street, in the center of town, adjacent a enormous college campus... The noise can be considerable at times, especially in the overnight hours and early mornings.. Please consider this BEFORE booking as there is nothing we can do about this once you arrive.
Now offering discounted 30day rental periods. Our historically restored and completely remodeled building includes one off-street parking space, private elevator, huge piazza and gourmet kitchen. Master bedroom on main floor contains queen bed and sizable master bath. Antique staircase leads to 4th floor bedroom containing 1 full bed, 2 twin beds and a full bath (there is no door on this bedroom as it is located in the finished attic, please... please consider this before booking). Strategies to get the very best rental experience:
Get the most from your budget:
- Book your vacation rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules often become available 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many families book their Summer vacations during Thanksgiving and Christmas get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- June, July, and August are high season in the Charleston area area. To get the best value, change your group's vacation dates to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and October offer great temperatures, , and reduced traffic. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Charleston area vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with loved ones at your favorite beach.
- Hosts sometimes offer special rates for veterans. It's always a good idea to check with your property manager to see if discounts are available for your family.
- Management companies and individual rental owners often offer guests an option to purchase vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which costs between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for specifics.
- Many property management companies and vacation rental houses supply Charleston area area travel guides which will include special offers, either offered directly by local companies, or by way of a relationship between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Charleston area visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
Filter your rental search:
- Select a group lead, select your vacation week, and select a budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your family needs. Historic Upper King Restoration! Walk to everything! has 2 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is normally available on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, contact the property owner before booking the rental. Note that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which typically includes pull-out couches and bunk beds.
- Some properties allow pets, but others don't. Allowable types of dog or cat, size and breeds may be restricted, and additional charges may apply. Ask the property manager about pet restrictions before booking.
- Visiting for a specific attraction? Use a map search to browse nearby properties.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Remember to confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before booking
Tips to have a smooth stay:
- Review check in & check out procedures before leaving home. Take a printed copy, and save the directions to your phone.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, intercom or appliance. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief call prevents many problems.
- Keep the property locked while you're out! Don't let thieves spoil your vacation.
- Document any issues with the property upon arrival, and immediately contact the host. We specifically recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain time stamps that can be useful if a dispute is filed.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like loud visitors bothering your peace and quiet. Apply the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great restaurants and places you would have never otherwise known about!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Locals can often help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to find the best bike paths, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Double-check every room of the property to make sure that you've packed all belongings at check-out. Make sure to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Did you have a great stay? Many rental managers make it easy for guests to provide feedback. If your property and/or property manager was fantastic, they would love to hear it. If anything was inoperable and they failed to address it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
