How to book the best Charleston rental home experience:
Sticking to a spending plan:
- Reserve your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules usually become available twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many groups reserve their Summer rental homes during Christmas and Thanksgiving gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months along the coast of SC. To find the best rental home within budget, we recommend reserving in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons. You'll benefit from lower rates, greater selection, beautiful weather and the absence of large crowds at popular attractions and restaurants. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to book a beach front rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer.
- Some property managers offer discounts for veterans. Check with your property manager to see if special discounts are available for your group before you book.
- Property managers often offer renters an option to purchase trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally will cost you 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed days as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for additional information.
- Often, rental management companies and vacation rental houses supply Charleston area area visitors guides that include special deals, either offered independently by local businesses, or by way of a relationship with the management company and the business itself. You can also find Charleston area visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
How to choose the perfect vacation rental in the Charleston area area:
- Start by selecting the best vacation week and a spending budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your group requires. King Street Condo - Endless Outdoor Space! has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our search.
- Precise details about bedrooms and bed counts & types is normally available on booking websites. If not, email the property management company before you reserve the rental. Note that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds and bunks. You'll need to work out what bed configuration is suitable for your vacation.
- Traveling with pets? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Ask your property manager before booking, and study your agreement! Additional pet fees or charges may be applied to your invoice.
- If there's an individual Charleston area attraction you long to visit, search for homes that are either close by, or those that cater especially to your requirements.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. Confirm all necessary amenities are available before reserving a rental.
More considerations for your visit:
- Review arrival and departure procedures before leaving home. Add a note with the instructions to your phone, and take a printed backup.
- Property managers are available to help! Don't be shy to ask questions during your stay.
- Keep your rental home locked while you're away! Don't let thieves spoil your holiday.
- Upon check-in, make note of any damages to the rental property and immediately alert the property manager. Record all coorespondence.
- Respect the neighborhood. Often times, adjacent homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking regulations is the right thing to do.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Residents can frequently help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to go for the best drinks, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
- When it's time to leave, take a final walk-through to confirm you have not forget any personal items. Check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Did your family have a fantastic time? Many rental websites make it easy for customers to provide feedback. If your rental and/or property manager was wonderful, they would love to hear it. If anything was amiss and they failed to correct it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
