Getting the best Charleston area rental home experience:
Getting the most from your rental home budget:
- In the Charleston area area, The sooner you can reserve a vacation home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable vacation rentals are booked very early. Booking your rental home up to twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to search for and book your vacation rental.
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months along the coast of SC. Booking in the Fall or Spring is one of our best tips for saving money on your vacation. Rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of desirable properties. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to book an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the high season.
- Property managers sometimes offer discounts or promotional rates for veterans. Check with your host or property manager to see if discounts are available for your group.
- Property managers frequently offer their guests an option to buy vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost you 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed trip time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for more information.
- Find a copy of your local Charleston area visitors guide upon arrival. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local stories, visitors guides contain money saving offers on nearby shops and restaurants.
Narrow your rental Search:
- Start by having your group agree to trip dates and a max budget.
- Determine how many beds and the configuration your family needs. Design Dream ? Modern Luxury 4BR
- Precise information about bedrooms and bed types is usually accessible online. If you don't see them listed, email the property owner before reserving the vacation home. Note that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which often includes pull out couches in living rooms. You will need to establish what bed configuration is best for your group.
- Some rental properties allow pets, but others do not. Acceptable types of pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and added costs may apply. Ask the owner about allowable breeds and types before booking.
- Are you visiting for a specific event? Use a map search to locate nearby properties.
- Proper accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with a disability. .
More considerations:
- Add the owner's information to your smartphone. Take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, intercom or kitchen appliance. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief text message can prevent a lot of concerns.
- Keep the property locked while you are away! Don't let thieves ruin your vacation.
- To ensure that no damages are attributed to your family's visit, note any problem areas upon your arrival. Make contact with the rental manager immediately to record any issues. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having a record of problems and contact attempts will be useful.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. You'll magnify your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are usually an incredible source for finding the best local spots.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Residents can often help. Who better to ask where to book the best tours, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fishing?
- Double-check every room of the property to confirm that you've packed all personal items at check-out. Remember to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Did your family have a excellent time? Many rental management companies make it easy for clients to provide reviews. If your rental and/or property management company was great, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was defective and they failed to fix it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
