Strategies to get the very best rental home experience:

Get the best value:

  • June, July, and August are high season in the Charleston area area. Booking in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons is our best tip for saving money on your vacation home. Rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of acceptable homes.
  • Reserve your vacation rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules often become available 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many groups book their Summer vacation rentals during Winter holiday get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager or host if your family qualifies for a special rate.
  • Property management companies frequently offer their guests an option to buy trip insurance. Trip insurance, which usually will cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for specifics.
  • Often, property management companies supply Charleston area area visitor guides which often include money-saving offers, either offered independently by local businesses, or by way of a partnership between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Charleston area visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.

Selecting the best rental home in Charleston:

  • Choose a group leader, choose your vacation dates, and select a budget.
  • Note the number beds and what type of bedroom configuration your group requires. The Magnolia Suite at 265 Rutledge has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our search.
  • Specific information about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is often accessible online. Otherwise, email or call the host before you reserve your home. Remember that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds in living rooms.
  • If there's a specific Charleston area beach you are enamored with, browse homes that are either nearby, or those that cater especially to your desires.
  • Suitable accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for persons with a disability. Confirm all necessary amenities are available before booking.
  • Some rental properties allow pets, and others don't. Acceptable types of dog or cat, weight and breeds may be restricted, and additional charges may apply. Ask your host about allowable breeds and types before booking.

Tips for your stay:

  • Get the host's phone number and entry/exit procedures for your . Store the host's information in your smartphone.
  • To make certain damages are not linked to your visit, inspect for any problem areas when you arrive. E-mail the host immediately to report any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having a record of issues and contact attempts will be helpful.
  • Hosts are available to help! Don't be shy to ask questions during your stay.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disrespectful vacationers disrupting your home life. Use the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great beaches and places you would have never otherwise known about!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Local residents can often help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to get the best breakfast in town, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
  • Protect the rental owner (and your stuff!) by locking the rental while you are gone, just like you would back home.
  • Just prior to departing, complete a walk-through to make sure you didn't forget anything. Remember to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • Did your family have a wonderful vacation? Most rental websites make it easy for travelers to provide comments. If your rental and/or host was terrific, they would love to hear about it. If anything was defective and they failed to fix it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
