Since Cannon Street (and Spring Street) are the only legal areas in the city to host short term units in Charleston, you will be in good company here.

Getting the best Charleston vacation home experience:
Sticking to your rental home budget:
- In the Charleston area area, The sooner you can reserve a vacation home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable properties are booked early. Reserving your vacation rental up to twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental property.
- Summer is high season in the Charleston area area. To get the best rental within budget, we recommend booking in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons. You'll benefit from lower rates, better selection, warm weather and the absence of giant crowds at your favorite restaurants and activities. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to book a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the Summer months.
- Some property management companies offer discounts for veterans. It's always a good idea to check with your host or property manager to see if special offers are available for your group before you book.
- Booking websites usually offer guests an option to obtain vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which usually costs between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed vacation time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for details.
- Often, management companies and vacation rental houses supply Charleston area area travel guides which often include coupons, either offered independently by local businesses, or by way of a relationship with the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
Planning, picking, and booking yourrental home:
- Select a group lead, select your dates, and choose a budget.
- Decide how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your family requires. Luxurious, Spacious & Historic- 5 Min Walk to King has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Specific information about bedrooms and bed types is normally available on booking pages. If they are not listed, email or call the property management company before you reserve your home. Note that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which frequently includes pull-out couches. You will need to establish what bed configuration is best for your trip.
- If your group is vacationing with pets, search for a pet-friendly vacation rental. Request details on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Often, property owners require additional pet deposits and fees.
- If there's a certain Charleston area beach you are enamored with, search for properties that are either near by, or those that cater to your desires.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. Confirm all required amenities are included before booking.
Tips to have a wonderful stay:
- Take a copy of the host's phone number and check in/check out procedures for your rental.
- Property managers are available to help! Don't be shy to ask questions during your stay.
- Protect the owner (and your stuff!) by locking the property when you are out, just like you would at home.
- During arrival, make note of any damages to the rental property and immediately contact the owner. Keep records of all coorespondence.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll enhance your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are an incredible source for finding the best local attractions.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Neighbors can typically point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to enjoy a steak with a view, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Re-check the vacation property to make sure that you've packed all personal items on check-out day. Check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Did your group have a fantastic stay? Many rental websites make it easy for guests to provide feedback. If your rental property and/or property management company was great, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was amiss and they failed to address it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
