How to get the best Charleston vacation home experience:

When to book & When to go:

  • The sooner your group can reserve a vacation home, the better your selection will be. The best vacation homes are booked very early. Reserving your rental home six - twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and book your rental home.
  • Book your rental in the Fall or Spring to get the benefit of beautiful weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to reserve an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the Summer months.
  • Some hosts and property managers offer special rates for active duty military and veterans. Ask your property manager if special offers are available for your group.
  • Booking websites frequently offer their guests an option to obtain trip insurance. Trip insurance, which will generally cost 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for details.
  • Find a copy of your local Charleston area area magazine upon checking in. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great information, visitor guides contain deals for local tours and attractions.

Make a plan and choose the bestrental:

  • Select your dates and spending budget.
  • Note the number bedrooms and the bed configuration you need. Serene Location - Next to Hampton Park: Haven Home has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our search.
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is almost always available on booking pages. Otherwise, reach out to the property management company before you book the rental. Remember that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which frequently includes pull out couches in living rooms.
  • Some rentals allow pets, but some do not. Allowable types of family pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and added fees may apply. Ask the host about pet restrictions before booking.
  • If there's a specific Charleston area attraction you are crazy about, search for properties that are either close by, or those that cater especially to your needs.
  • Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. Confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before reserving a rental

During your stay:

  • We recommend storing the host's contact information in your smartphone.
  • Hosts are great sources of help! Don't be shy to ask any questions during your stay.
  • Lock your rental home while you're out. Protect the owner's property and your things!
  • During arrival, make note of any damages to the property and immediately alert the owner. Keep records of all correspondence in case a dispute arises.
  • Don't forget to respect your neighbors. Often, nearby homes are filled by local residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking policies reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Residents can usually help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to go for the best drinks, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fishing?
  • Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, walk through the rental property to reconfirm you've collected everything. Re-check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Go through the property one final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We advise walking through with the property manager whenever possible. If the manager is not available, ensure that you take pictures of the property to record its condition at check-out.
  • Remember to leave a review! Hosts rely on great feedback to compel new bookings. They'll be much obliged for your review. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other vacationing families will appreciate that you share your feedback find their best rental home. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to fix it.
