Make yourself at home at this traditional, early 1800s two-story home near the heart of Charleston! It's been updated and thoughtfully decorated to provide guests with the best lodging experience while maintaining some classic Charleston appeal. The staircase is original which does mean that the steps are a little narrow and worn, but still striking! On the first level, you'll come across two bedrooms with one desk and TV each, a half bathroom, a dining room, an on-site washer/dryer, and a completely-equipped kitchen with stainless steel appliances. Double porches to watch the world go by or to relax on after a long day with a good book. As you climb up the stairs, you'll come across two bedrooms (one with an ensuite full bathroom), a working space made up of a desk, an inviting living room with a huge TV, a full bathroom, and another bedroom.

This beautiful home is conveniently located in downtown's East Side neighborhood and only three blocks from King Street and you can walk to just about everything downtown has to offer. You're within walking distance from eateries and all of the city's best watering holes. The Charleston Farmers Market is less than one mile away; it's a must-visit and the ideal place to experience the southern charm. It's open every day from 9:30 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. History buffs won't believe their eyes once they realize all the historical landmarks, museums, art galleries, and historical hot spots they can find within walking distance.

Tips to get the best rental experience:

Money saving strategies:

  • Booking your Charleston area vacation home in Fall or Spring months is our best tip for saving money on your rental home. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of desirable properties. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to reserve a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer.
  • Reserve your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules often become available 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many families reserve their Summer vacations during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • Hosts sometimes offer discounts or promotional rates for veterans. Remember to ask your property manager if special offers are available for your group before you book.
  • Property management companies typically offer guests an option to obtain vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed days as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for more information.
  • Often, rental management companies supply Charleston area area travel guide magazines which often include coupons, either offered independently by local businesses, or by way of a relationship with the management company and the business itself. You can also find Charleston area visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.

Planning, selecting, and booking your prefectrental:

  • First, have your family commit to a vacation week and a budget.
  • Note the number beds and the bed configuration your family requires. Renovated two-story home in Charleston with private yard - 30-day rental has 4 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms.
  • Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed counts is often available online. If you don't see them listed, reach out to the property management company before booking the home. Remember that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which often includes pull-out couches.
  • If there's a particular Charleston area attraction you are crazy about, keep an eye out for properties that are either close by, or those that cater to your needs.
  • Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Confirm all required amenities are included before booking
  • Some rentals allow pets, but others do not. Acceptable types of family pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and additional charges may apply. Ask the property manager about allowable breeds and types before booking.

Have a wonderful stay:

  • Get the property manager's contact number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental home.
  • To make certain no damages are attributed to your visit, inspect for any problem areas when you arrive. Make contact with the property manager immediately to relay any issues. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having the recorded problems and contact attempts will be useful.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a garage door opener, elevator or coffee maker. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief text message can prevent quite a few issues.
  • Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay more pleasurable. You'll enhance your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are usually an incredible source for finding the best local beaches.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can frequently help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to get the best breakfast in town, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
  • Protect the property owner (and your things!) by locking the rental when you are gone, just like you would at home.
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, walk through the property to reconfirm you've collected all belongings. Re-check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Walk through the rental one final time and scan for any damage. We recommend inspecting the property with the property manager whenever possible. If the host isn't available, ensure that you take pictures of the property to record its condition at check-out.
  • Did your family have a fantastic stay? Many rental managers make it easy for vacationers to provide feedback. If your property and/or host was terrific, they would love to hear it. If anything was defective and they failed to correct it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
