How to find the best Charleston area rental home experience:
Sticking to your spending plan:
- To book the best vacation home within budget, we strongly suggest reserving in the Spring or Fall. You'll enjoy lower rates, greater selection, warm weather and the absence of giant crowds at local restaurants, tours, and activities.
- In the Charleston area area, The sooner your group can reserve a home, the easier your search will be. The best rental homes are booked early. Booking your rental home up to twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and book your vacation rental.
- Some owners offer discounts for veterans. Ask your property manager if special offers are available for your group before you book.
- Property managers frequently offer customers an option to purchase vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which generally will cost you between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed days as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for specifics.
- Find a copy of your local Charleston area visitors guide magazine upon checking in. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great articles, visitors guide magazines contain deals for local tours, shops, and attractions.
Finding the best vacation home:
- Select your vacation week and maximum budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and the configuration your group needs. Luxurious, Renovated South of Broad Condo has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is often available online. Otherwise, call the host before you reserve the property. Note that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds in living rooms.
- If there's a certain Charleston area beach you love, browse homes that are either near by, or those that cater especially to your desires.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for those with limited mobility. Confirm all necessary amenities are available before booking.
- Some rentals allow pets, and others do not. Acceptable types of family pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and added fees may apply. Ask the property manager about your furry family members before booking.
Advice for a great stay:
- Get the owner's phone number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental home.
- To make sure that damages aren't attributed to your family's visit, inspect the property for any problem areas upon your arrival. Speak to the rental manager right away to report any issues. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having the recorded issues and contact attempts will be very helpful.
- Hosts are great sources of help! Don't be shy to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll magnify your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are an incredible source for finding the best local beaches and restaurants.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Local residents can usually help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to charter a fishing boat, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
- Lock your vacation home while you are out and about. Protect your property!
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, take a walk through the property to reconfirm you've collected all of your things. Re-check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Remember to leave a review! Property managers rely on great ratings to inspire future reservations. They'll be thankful for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other vacationing families will be thankful you shared your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to fix it.
