Our top Rental booking tips and tricks:

When to reserve a Charleston area rental & When to go:

  • Book your Charleston area rental in Fall or Spring to enjoy warm weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to book an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer.
  • The sooner you can reserve a home, the easier your search will be. The best properties are reserved early. Booking your vacation property 6-12 months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to plan and reserve your vacation home.
  • Hosts and Property managers sometimes offer special rates for veterans and active duty military. Remember to ask your property manager if rate reductions are available for your group before you book.
  • Booking websites usually offer customers an option to obtain trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for details.
  • Often, management companies supply Charleston area area travel guide magazines which include money-saving deals, either offered independently by local businesses, or by way of a partnership between the management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.

Make a plan and choose the perfect Charleston area vacation home:

  • Choose a designated group leader, select your dates, and choose a max budget.
  • Decide how many beds and the configuration your group requires. The Marquee On King & and Historic Market! has 6 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms.
  • Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed counts is commonly accessible on booking websites. Otherwise, email or call the property manager before reserving the rental. Note that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds. You'll need to establish what configuration is best for your trip.
  • Visiting for a specific attraction? Use a map search to find nearby properties.
  • Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. Confirm all required amenities are available and included before reserving a rental.
  • Are you bringing the family pet? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Ask your property manager before booking, and study your agreement! Pet fees or might be applied to your invoice.

Considerations for your stay:

  • We recommend storing the manager's information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • To make sure that damages aren't linked to your stay, inspect for any problem areas when you arrive. text the host right away to relay your findings. If there is a dispute, having a record of concerns and contact attempts will be very helpful.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a garage door opener, stereo or coffee maker. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief text message can prevent quite a few difficulties.
  • Respect the neighborhood. Often, nearby homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting noise limits and parking regulations can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Local residents can usually help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to see a beautiful sunrise or sunset, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
  • Lock your rental property while you are away! Don't let crooks ruin your trip.
  • Just before checking out, complete a final walk-through to confirm you didn't leave anything behind. Check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Go through the property a final time and look for damage. We recommend inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can. If the property manager isn't available, ensure that you take photographs of the property to record its condition at check-out.
  • Did you have a excellent stay? Most rental managers make it easy for guests to provide comments. If your rental property and/or host was terrific, they would love to hear it. If anything was inoperable and they failed to address it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
