Please be aware that this historical home may require additional considerations. Due to its age and historical significance, the insulation may not meet modern standards. As a result, during extremely hot months, the HVAC system may struggle to keep up with cooling demands. We want to provide full transparency and disclose this information, ensuring you are well-informed before making your decision.

Finding the best vacation rental experience:
Getting the most from your vacation rental budget:
- Book your vacation home as soon as possible. Rental schedules usually become available a year in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many families reserve their Summer vacation rentals during Christmas and Thanksgiving get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Summer months are high season in Charleston. To find the best value, consider shifting your family's Charleston area vacation to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and October offer pleasant temperatures, less crowded beaches, and reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to reserve a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the high season.
- Some hosts offer discounts or promotional rates for veterans. Make sure to check with your host or property manager to see if special discounts are available for your group.
- Property management companies typically offer renters an option to obtain vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which generally will cost you 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed vacation time as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for specifics.
- Many management companies supply Charleston area area visitor guides which often include money-saving offers, either offered directly by local companies, or by way of a relationship between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
How to select the perfect rental home in Charleston:
- Choose a group leader, select your vacation dates, and choose a spending budget.
- Determine how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your family requires. Charming Suite in the Heart of Charleston has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed counts & types is almost always accessible on booking websites. If they are not listed, email the host before booking your rental. Note that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which often includes pull-out couches and bunk beds. You will need to work out which bed configuration is best for your vacation.
- Some properties allow pets, and some do not. Acceptable types of dog or cat, weight and breeds may be restricted, and additional charges may apply. Ask the host about allowable breeds and types before booking.
- If there's a certain Charleston area beach you love, keep an eye out for properties that are either nearby, or those that cater to your requirements.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. .
More considerations:
- We recommend storing the manager's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, stereo or coffee maker. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief call prevents quite a few problems.
- Lock your vacation home while you are out. Keep your property safe!
- To make certain that no damages are attributed to your family's visit, make a record of any problem areas during check in. Get in touch with the host immediately to relay any damages. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having a record of problems and contact attempts will be useful.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. You'll increase your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are often an incredible source for finding the best local beaches.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Local residents can often point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to take kids for a treat, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, walk through the rental to make sure you've collected everything. Remember to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Remember to leave a review! Hosts rely on excellent reviews to stimulate future bookings. They'll be much obliged for your review. Alternatively, if something went awry, other vacationers will will be grateful for your experience and help them have the best future vacation. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to remedy it.
