Tips and Tricks for getting the best rental home experience:

Finding the best rental value:

  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months in the Charleston area area. To get the best value, try shifting your family's Charleston area vacation dates to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and even October offer pleasant weather, , and reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to reserve an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the high season. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Charleston area vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with loved ones at your favorite beach.
  • Reserve your rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules often become available 12 months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many families book their Summer vacation rentals during holiday get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Some property managers offer discounts for veterans. Remember to ask your property manager if special offers are available for your group.
  • Property managers typically offer renters an option to obtain vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed vacation time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for program terms and fees.
  • Find a copy of your local Charleston area visitors guide upon checking in. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great local information, travel guides contain discounts for local tours and attractions.

How to choose and book the perfect Charleston area vacation home:

  • To start, have your family agree to vacation dates and a budget.
  • Determine how many beds and the bed configuration you need. 1 mile to Credit One Stadium: Daniel Island Furnished 1 Bed, 1 Bath Studio Apt has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rental home search.
  • Precise information about bedrooms and bed types is usually available online. If they are not listed, reach out to the property manager before you book your home. Remember that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds and bunks.
  • Are you visiting for a single attraction or event? Try a map search to browse nearby properties.
  • Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. Make certain to inquire about wheel chair accessibility, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
  • Some rentals allow pets, and some don't. Acceptable types of family pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and added charges may apply. Ask the property manager about allowable breeds and types before booking.

Considerations for your stay:

  • Review arrival and departure procedures before leaving home. Save the directions to your phone, and take a printed backup.
  • To make sure that damages aren't attributed to your stay, inspect for any problem areas upon check in. Make contact with the property manager immediately to record any issues. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having a record of problems and contact attempts will be helpful.
  • Hosts are there to help! Feel free to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll enhance your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are a great source for finding the best local scenic spots.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Locals can often help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to get the best breakfast in town, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
  • Lock your rental home while you are away. Protect the owner's property and your things!
  • Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, walk through the property to confirm you've collected all personal items. Remember to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • Leave feedback! Property owners rely on good feedback to compel new bookings. They'll be thankful for your review. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other families will be thankful you shared your feedback find their best vacation home. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to fix it.
