You'll benefit from lower rates, greater selection, warm weather and the absence of large crowds at the beach and popular Charleston area attractions. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during June, July, and August.

Reserving your vacation property up to twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental home.
  • Property management companies sometimes offer discounts for veterans and active duty military. Check with your property manager to see if discounts are available for your group.
  • Booking websites usually offer renters an option to buy vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally will cost 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional gasoline expenses. Advice for a fantastic stay:

  • Respect the neighborhood. Often times, surrounding homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting noise limits and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Residents can usually point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to find the best seashells, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
  • Lock your vacation home while you are away. Protect your property!
  • Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, walk through the rental to reconfirm you've collected all personal belongings. Make sure to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Please make sure to walk through the rental a final time and look for any damage. We advise walking through with the property manager whenever you can. If the host isn't available, remember to take photos of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
  • Remember to leave feedback! Property owners rely on excellent reviews to inspire new bookings. They'll be thankful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went awry, other families will appreciate that you share your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to solve it.
