Tricks and tips for getting the best vacation property experience:

Get the best rental value:

  • In the Charleston area area, The earlier you can book a rental home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable vacation homes are booked very early. Booking your vacation rental up to 12 months before your vacation is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to plan and book your vacation home.
  • To get the most suitable vacation home for your budget, we strongly suggest reserving in Spring or Fall. You'll enjoy lower rental rates, greater selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of giant crowds at your favorite Charleston area restaurants and activities. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Charleston area vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with loved ones at your favorite beach.
  • Some owners offer discounts for veterans. Ask your property manager if special offers are available for your group before you book.
  • Property managers usually offer customers an option to obtain trip insurance. Trip insurance, which generally will cost between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for specifics.
  • Often, property management companies supply Charleston area area visitor guide magazines which will include special offers, either offered directly by local businesses, or through a relationship with the management company and the business itself. You can also find Charleston area area magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.

Finding the perfect vacation home:

  • Choose dates and max budget.
  • Decide how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your family requires. Renovated 2 Bedroom Home - Ashley Ave - Downtown! has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Specific details about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is normally accessible online. If you don't see them listed, email the property owner before you book your rental. Remember that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds. You will need to establish what is suitable for your vacation family.
  • Remember to include your furry companions! Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Remember to ask your host before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Extra fees or charges might be applied to your contract.
  • If there's a certain Charleston area attraction you are enamored with, search for rentals that are either close by, or those that cater to your desires.
  • Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. Make certain to inquire about wheel chair entry, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.

Tips to have a smooth stay:

  • Be sure you get the property manager's contact number and check in/check out procedures for your .
  • Property managers are great sources of help! Don't be shy to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Lock your vacation home while you are away. Protect your property!
  • Record any issues with the rental during check in, and immediately e-mail them to the host. We especially recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that can be very helpful if a dispute is filed.
  • Respecting quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. You'll increase your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are an excellent resource to find the best local beaches and restaurants.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Residents can often help. Who better to ask where to find the best bike paths, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fine dining?
  • Re-check every room of the property to confirm that you've packed all personal items at check-out. Re-check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Inspect the rental a final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We advise inspecting the property with the host whenever you can. If the host isn't available, remember to take photographs of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
  • Remember to leave a review! Property owners rely on great ratings to propel new reservations. They'll be thankful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went awry, other vacationers will will be grateful for your experience and help them have the best future vacation. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to remedy it.
