  • 1 Bathrooms
  • Apartment
  • Approximately 500 square feet

Private detached Guest home (500 ft²) with NO connecting neighbors
- Safe and secure off-street parking right next to your door
- A ideal jumping off point for those who want to experience Folly Beach and Downtown Charleston!
- Located in the established walkable Bayfront community with waterfront Dock Street Park just a block away. Ideal if you want to get a "locals" feel of the area.
(Located on James Island)

The Space
You are only:
- 3.5 miles and (only 1 stop light) to Historic Downtown Charleston - basically a straight shot over the breathtaking James Island bridge to downtown.
- 6 miles to Folly Beach
- 14 miles to the Charleston Airport
- There are multiple eateries and bars including a city park within walking distance.

Folly Beach and Downtown are not within walking distance. Units in those areas have significantly higher prices and usually lack adequate parking and conveniance if you want to see greater Charleston.

Transportation:
A car is recommended if you want to see all of the sites that Charleston has to offer. Uber and Lyft are conveniently available due to the close proximity to downtown Charleston

Charleston area rental home tips and tricks:

How to get the best value:

  • In the Charleston area area, The sooner your group can reserve a home, the easier your search will be. The best rental properties are reserved very early. Booking your vacation home 6-12 months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental property.
  • Summer time is high season in the Charleston area area. Book your rental in the Fall or Spring to get the benefit of warm weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to book a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Charleston area vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with friends and family at the beach.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner or host if your vacationing group qualifies for a special rate.
  • Property managers usually offer renters an option to add vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which usually will cost you 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed trip time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for program terms and fees.
  • Many property management companies and vacation rental houses supply Charleston area area visitors guide magazines which often include money-saving offers, either offered independently by local companies, or by way of a partnership between the management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.

Narrow your Search:

  • Start by having your group choose a vacation week and a spending budget.
  • Note the number bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your family needs. Private Detached Guest House Close to Historic Charleston has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
  • Specific information about bedrooms and bed counts is commonly accessible on booking websites. If they are not listed, call the host before booking your rental. Remember that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull out couches in living rooms. You'll need to establish what bed configuration is right for your vacation group.
  • If your group is bringing pets, you'll need to book a pet-friendly vacation rental. Request details on breed, size, and type requirements. Be aware that some property owners charge additional pet fees.
  • Visiting for a single attraction or event? Try a map search to browse nearby rentals.
  • Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Remember to confirm all required amenities are included before reserving a rental

Tips for a smooth stay:

  • Be sure you get the host's phone number and check in/check out procedures for your rental home.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a garage door opener, intercom or thermostat. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief call prevents lots of concerns.
  • Protect the owner (and your things!) by locking the rental while you are away, just like you would at home.
  • Document any damages to the property during check in, and immediately send them to the owner. We specifically recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain time stamps that are helpful if a dispute arises.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disrespectful vacationers bothering your peaceful home. Use the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great beaches and scenic spots you would've never otherwise known!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Local residents can usually help. Who better to ask where to see a beautiful sunrise or sunset, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, walk through the rental property to make sure you've collected all of your things. Make sure to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • Did you have a fantastic stay? Most rental managers make it easy for customers to provide reviews. If your property and/or property management company was terrific, they would love to hear about it. If anything was wrong and they failed to address it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
