Tips to get the perfect rental home experience:
Find your perfect rental:
- To find the most suitable rental within your budget, we highly recommend reserving in the Spring or Fall. You'll enjoy lower rental rates, better selection, beautiful weather and the absence of giant crowds at popular attractions and restaurants. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Charleston area vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with friends and family at your favorite beach.
- Book your vacation rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules often open a year in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many groups book their Summer vacations during Christmas and Thanksgiving get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager whether your group qualifies for a price reduction.
- Management companies and individual rental owners typically offer customers an option to add trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for details.
- Often, rental management companies supply Charleston area area travel guide magazines which often include money-saving offers, either offered directly by local companies, or by way of a relationship between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
Use filters to search efficiently:
- Begin by choosing vacation dates and a budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your family needs. Charleston Home w\/ Rooftop Deck! has 1 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed counts & types is almost always available online. If they are not listed, email the property management company before you reserve your rental. Remember that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds in living rooms.
- Does your group require particular amenities? Most websites include amenity lists and search filters. Filtering by amenity will allow you to quickly find the perfect rental.
- Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. Confirm all required amenities are available before booking
- If your family is bringing pets, you'll need to find a property that allows animals. Ask for specifics on breed, size, and type restrictions. Note that some property managers require additional pet deposits and fees.
More tips for your stay:
- Add the property manager's information to your smartphone. Print and take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
- Upon check-in, document any damages to the property and immediately contact the host. Record all coorespondence.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, television set or kitchen appliance. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief phone call can prevent lots of concerns.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like loud visitors bothering your home life. Practice the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great restaurants and scenic spots you would've not otherwise known!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Local residents can usually help. Who better to ask where to go for the best drinks, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
- Lock your vacation home while you are out. Protect the owner's property and your stuff!
- On check-out day, complete a walk-through to make sure you have not forget any personal items. Re-check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Please make sure to walk through the rental a final time and scan for damage. We suggest walking through with the property manager whenever you can. If the property manager is not available, ensure that you take photographs of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- Did you have a excellent time? Many rental websites make it easy for vacationers to provide reviews. If your property and/or property manager was fantastic, they would love to hear it. If anything was inoperable and they failed to fix it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
