Charleston is one of the most fashionable vacation destinations in the South. From history and dining to shopping and sightseeing, there's something to do around every corner of the city. Located in the heart of the city along Upper King Street, the resort is within walking distance of award-winning eateries, art galleries, great shopping and more. Take a horse-drawn carriage ride along cobblestone streets past stately and lovingly-preserved antebellum mansions and graceful gardens. Shop for antiques, savor lunch at a tavern dating back to the Revolution or walk down to Waterfront Park to view Fort Sumter still guarding the harbor–the first shots of the Civil War were fired here.

The resort assigns the specific unit around the time of check-in so your view may vary. Let us know if you have a preference to be near a specific location throughout the resort or if you would like a specific view. We will gladly notate your preference and send this over to the resort as your stay gets closer. Please notate that requests are not guaranteed.

Other Notes: There are no laundry facilities onsite or in units

Our top Charleston area rental home tips and tricks:

Sticking to your rental budget:

  • Book your Charleston area vacation in Spring or Fall to get the benefit of gorgeous weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the high season. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Charleston area vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with loved ones at your favorite beach.
  • Book your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules often become available 12 months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many groups reserve their Summer vacations during Christmas and Thanksgiving gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective vacation rental company or host whether your family qualifies for a price reduction.
  • Property managers often offer renters an option to obtain vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed time as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for details.
  • Look for your local Charleston area visitors guide upon checking in. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great local information, travel guides contain discounts for nearby accommodations, restaurants and tours.

How to choose the perfect rental home:

  • Select vacation dates and max budget.
  • Decide how many beds and the bed configuration your group needs. King Street Boutique Resort has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rentals search.
  • Specific details about bedrooms and bed counts is regularly available online. If they are not listed, call the property manager before reserving the vacation home. Remember that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which often includes pull out couches in living rooms.
  • Is your group looking for special amenities? Most websites include amenity lists and search filters. Use these filters to your advantage to find the perfect rental home.
  • Suitable accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for those with limited mobility. Confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before reserving a rental
  • Do your family pets travel with you? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your agreement! Additional fees or might be applied to your agreement.

More considerations for your visit:

  • Add the owner's contact information to your phone. Understand and take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
  • Upon check-in, record any issues with the property and immediately contact the property manager. Keep records of all coorespondence.
  • Property managers are great sources of help! Feel free to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Respecting quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll enhance your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are a terrific resource to find the best local beaches and hangouts.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Neighbors can often help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to take kids for a treat, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
  • Lock your vacation home while you are out. Protect your property!
  • Upon check-out, take a walk-through to make sure you have not leave anything behind. Re-check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • Leave feedback! Property owners rely on excellent feedback to drive new bookings. They'll be much obliged for your review. Alternatively, if something went awry, other vacationers will be thankful you shared your review and help them have the best future vacation. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to fix it.
