Summary:
Stay at our attractively remodeled flagship property under The Dunes brand! We acquired this extraordinary 1905 Charleston Victorian duplex home in the heart of the fashionable and trendy Cannonborough neighborhood in September 2019 and completely refreshed with professional interior design in January 2022. Just 2 blocks from King Street, this rear unit bungalow offers 2 bedrooms, each with a queen-sized bed, and 1 bathroom with tub.

The Space:
This unit is completely licensed and legal with the City of Charleston under STR Operational Permit OP2023-04178 and business license BL028010.

This rear unit, Driftwood Cottage at the Dunes on Spring, is 730 square feet with 2 bedrooms and 1 bathroom. The polished pine wood floors are reminiscent of the early 1900s while the decor lends a chic and trendy ambiance. Bright and private, this bungalow features new appliances and a washer and dryer for a ideal home away from home.

Parking passes for one car are included for street parking and are good to park anywhere in the area. If guests have a second car, we can recommend close by parking garage options.

We provide starter supplies for your stay to include a modest shampoo, conditioner and body wash per person, 3 rolls of toilet paper per bathroom, 2 dishwasher tabs, modest bottle of dish soap, 1 roll of paper towels, 1 spare trash bag, 2 packs of coffee and a handful of modest creamers. After these initial supplies run out, we do not offer additional supplies. There are numerous convenience stores and grocery stores in the area for your convenience.

Tips for getting the perfect Charleston rental home experience:

How to get the best rental home value:

  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months in Charleston. Booking in Spring or Fall is one of our best tips for saving money on your vacation. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of desirable homes. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to reserve an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer.
  • Reserve your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules generally open 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families book their Summer rentals during Winter holiday get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Some property management companies offer promotional rates for veterans. Ask your property manager if discounts are available for your group.
  • Booking websites usually offer renters an option to purchase vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for days missed as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for additional information.
  • Find a copy of your local Charleston area visitors guide magazine when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great local articles, visitor guide magazines contain deals for local attractions, tours, restaurants, and shops.

Use filters to narrow your rental search:

  • Choose your vacation dates and spending budget.
  • Note the number bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your family needs. Historic 1905 Charming Bungalow 2 Blocks From King has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
  • Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed counts is almost always accessible on booking pages. If not, contact the host before you reserve your home. Note that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull-out couches and bunk beds. You'll need to determine what configuration is suitable for your family.
  • If there's an individual Charleston area beach you love, search for rentals that are either nearby, or those that cater especially to your desires.
  • Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. Confirm all required amenities are included before reserving a rental.
  • Some properties allow pets, but others do not. Acceptable types of dog or cat, weight and breeds may be restricted, and additional charges may apply. Ask your host about allowable breeds and types before booking.

Some things to know before you go:

  • We recommend storing the manager's information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • During check-in, record any damages to the rental property and immediately alert the property manager. Record all coorespondence.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, stereo or kitchen appliance. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief telephone call prevents lots of concerns.
  • Respecting quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. You'll magnify your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are a terrific source for finding the best local spots.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Locals can typically point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to find the fresh catch of the day, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fine dining?
  • Lock your rental home while you're out and about. Keep your property safe!
  • Re-check every room of the vacation property to make sure that you've packed all of your belongings at check-out. Make sure to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • Did your group have a terrific vacation? Many vacation rental websites make it easy for guests to provide comments. If your rental and/or property management company was fantastic, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was out of order and they failed to address it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
