Isle of Palms vacation rental tips:
When to visit Isle of Palms & When to book:
- To find the best value, shift your group's vacation week to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and October offer warm weather, less crowded beaches, and greatly reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to reserve a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the Summer months.
- Book your rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules generally open 12 months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many groups book their Summer rental homes during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective vacation rental company or host if your family qualifies for a reduced rate.
- Property managers often offer their guests an option to add vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any days missed as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for program terms and fees.
- Look for your local Charleston area visitors guide magazine upon arrival. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great information, visitors guide magazines contain coupons for local accommodations and attractions.
Finding the perfect vacation rental in Isle of Palms:
- First and foremost, have your group select dates and a maximum budget.
- Determine how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your family needs. Charming updated 2 Bedroom Beach Cottage. Walk to the Beach! Pet Friendly has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rental home search.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is commonly available on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, contact the host before booking the vacation property. Remember that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which often includes pull out couches in living rooms.
- If there's an individual Charleston area beach you are crazy about, look for rentals that are either near by, or those that cater especially to your needs.
- Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. Confirm all required amenities are available before booking.
- Some properties allow pets, and others don't. Allowable types of pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and added fees may apply. Ask the property management company about pets before booking.
Tips for your stay:
- Review arrival and departure procedures before leaving home. Add a note with the instructions to your smartphone, and take a printed copy.
- Document any issues with the property during check in, and immediately contact the property manager. We especially recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that are helpful if there is a dispute.
- Hosts are great sources of help! Feel free to ask any questions during your stay.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You will enhance your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are often a terrific source for finding the best local scenic spots.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Residents can usually help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to enjoy a steak with a view, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Lock your rental property while you are away! Don't let crooks spoil your family vacation.
- Upon check-out, complete a walk-through to confirm you have not forget anything. Check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Please make sure to walk through the property a final time and look for any damage. We suggest walking through with the host whenever you can. If the property manager is not available, take pictures of the property to record its condition.
- Leave a review! Hosts rely on great feedback to compel more reservations. They'll be grateful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other vacationing families will appreciate that you share your feedback find their best vacation home. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to solve it.
