Booking the best Charleston area vacation rental experience:
When to book & When to go:
- Booking your Charleston area vacation rental in Spring or Fall is a great way to save on your vacation home. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of desirable properties.
- The sooner your group can book a rental home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable vacation homes are booked very early. Booking your rental 6-12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to search for and book your rental.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner if your family qualifies for a special rate.
- Booking websites typically offer guests an option to obtain vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost you between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for details.
- Many management companies and vacation rental houses supply Charleston area area travel guide magazines which often include coupons, either offered directly by local businesses, or by way of a relationship between the property management company and the business itself.
