Welcome to the delightfully southern neighborhood of Riverland Terrace! Our backyard carriage home is bright and delightfully decorated with modern decor. Located 5 mins. from downtown and 10 mins. from Folly beach, it's the ideal location for a calming stay in Charleston. We are frequent travelers, so we have outfitted the space with exactly what we adore when we travel! A comfortable bed and space to lounge after a long day exploring was at the top of our list!

Our carriage home provides handsome light and a warm ambiance. Walk into an open space with dark wood floors and cozy seating to welcome you after your journey or a long day exploring Charleston. The farmhouse style bedroom on the first floor has a craft designed barn door and "Fixer Upper" style wooden wall. An iron staircase will lead you up to the bright and cheerful loft, where you will find another queen bedroom set and plenty of privacy. Our carriage home is completely separate from our home, located in our backyard.

This property is available only for 30+ day units. It's a great space for travel nurses, those doing contract work, retirees, or those thinking about moving to Charleston.

Our whole property is smoke-complimentary, please! We don't offer use of the backyard, but our neighborhood is definitely beautiful, and is a great place to walk or bicycle down the streets. There are plenty of walkable eateries and bars, and even a local movie theater.

Tips to get the very best Charleston area vacation home experience:

When to visit Charleston & When to book:

  • Summer months are the most expensive season in coastal SC. To find the best rental within budget, we suggest booking in Spring or Fall. You'll benefit from lower rates, greater selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of giant crowds at Charleston area restaurants, tours, and activities.
  • Book your rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules generally become available 12 months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many groups reserve their Summer vacation rentals during Thanksgiving and Christmas gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Hosts sometimes offer discounts or promotional rates for veterans. Ask your property manager if discounts are available for your family.
  • Property managers usually offer guests an option to purchase trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for additional information.
  • Often, rental management companies and vacation rental houses supply Charleston area area travel guides that include coupons, either offered independently by local businesses, or by way of a relationship between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Charleston area visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.

How to pick the perfect rental home in the Charleston area area:

  • Start by choosing potential vacation weeks and a max budget.
  • Note the number beds and what type of bedroom configuration your group needs. Bright and beautiful 2-bedroom carriage house in Charleston SC with AC, WiFi has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rentals search.
  • Specific information about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is normally available on booking websites. Otherwise, reach out to the property management company before you reserve the property. Note that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds.
  • Visiting for a single event? If so, use a map search to locate nearby rentals.
  • Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. .
  • Some rentals allow pets, but some don't. Acceptable types of pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and additional costs may apply. Ask the host about pet restrictions before booking.

Some things to know before you go:

  • Take a copy of the property manager's contact number and entry/exit procedures for your rental property. Put the manager's information in your smartphone.
  • Note any damages to the rental during check in, and immediately contact the property manager. We specifically recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that are helpful if a dispute is filed.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, stereo or appliance. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief telephone call prevents a lot of issues.
  • Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You will increase your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are often a fantastic source for finding the best local attractions.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Neighbors can typically help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to grab the best tacos, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
  • Lock your rental while you are out and about. Protect your property!
  • Just before checking out, take a walk-through to make sure you didn't forget any personal items. Remember to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Go through the property a final time and look for any damage. We advise walking through with the property manager whenever possible. If the host is not available, remember to take video of the rental to record its condition.
  • Did you have a wonderful time? Many vacation rental websites make it easy for customers to provide reviews. If your rental property and/or host was fantastic, they would love to hear it. If anything was out of order and they failed to correct it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
