Tips to get the optimal vacation property experience:
How to get the best rental home value:
- Summer months are high season in the Charleston area area. To book the most suitable rental home for your budget, we strongly suggest booking in Fall or Spring. You'll benefit from lower rental rates, greater selection, warm weather and the absence of large crowds at local restaurants, tours, and activities. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Charleston area vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with loved ones at the beach.
- In the Charleston area area, The earlier your group can book, the better your selection will be. The most desirable vacation homes are reserved very early. Reserving your vacation home up to twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental.
- Some hosts and property managers offer discounts or promotional rates for veterans and active duty military. Make sure to check with your host or property manager to see if special offers are available for your family.
- Booking websites typically offer customers an option to purchase trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which generally costs 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed vacation time as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for details.
- Look for your local visitors guide when you check-in. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great local articles, visitor guides contain money saving offers on local tours, shops, and attractions.
Make a plan and pick your prefect Charleston area rental home:
- Select a group leader, choose your dates, and select a spending budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and the configuration your group requires. The Perfect Family Escape at The Barbuda has 4 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rental home search.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is regularly accessible on booking websites. If they are not listed, email or call the host before booking the home. Note that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds.
- Looking for particular amenities? Most rental websites include search filters for amenities.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. Make certain to ask about wheel chair entry, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
- If your group is vacationing with pets, you'll need to search for a property that allows animals. Make sure to ask for information on breed, size, and type requirements. Usually, hosts charge additional pet fees.
Advice for a wonderful stay:
- Be sure you get the owner's contact number and check in/check out procedures for your .
- Make a record of any damages to the property upon arrival, and immediately contact the host. We specifically recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain time stamps that are very helpful if a dispute is filed.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, intercom or thermostat. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief telephone call can prevent many problems.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like loud vacationers disrupting your peace. Use the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great restaurants and attractions you would have not otherwise known about!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Residents can frequently help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to rent beach equipment, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Keep the property locked while you're gone! Don't let burglars ruin your vacation.
- Re-check every room of the property to confirm that you've packed everything at departure. Re-check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Please make sure to walk through the rental a final time and look for any damage. We suggest inspecting the property with the property manager whenever possible. If the manager is not available, take video and pictures of the rental to record its condition.
- Did your group have a excellent time? Many rental management companies make it easy for customers to provide reviews. If your rental and/or host was wonderful, they would love to hear it. If anything was defective and they failed to fix it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
