Booking the best Charleston area vacation property experience:
When to visit & When to reserve a Charleston rental home:
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months in coastal SC. Book your Charleston area rental in Fall or Spring to enjoy warm weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Charleston area vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with friends and family at the beach.
- The sooner you can book a rental home, the easier your search will be. The best rental properties are booked early. Booking your vacation property six - twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to plan and book your vacation home.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager whether your family qualifies for a special rate.
- Management companies and individual rental owners frequently offer their guests an option to obtain vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which normally will cost you 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for additional information.
- Many rental management companies supply Charleston area area visitor guides that include coupons, either offered independently by local businesses, or by way of a relationship between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Charleston area visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
Planning and picking the perfectvacation home:
- Begin by selecting your a vacation week and a max budget.
- Decide how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your family needs. ? SOHO HOUSE ? Prime Location! Walk to Anything! has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
- Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is usually accessible on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, contact the property management company before you book the vacation home. Note that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds and bunks. You will need to determine what is optimal for your vacation group.
- If there's a specific Charleston area beach you crave, browse properties that are either close by, or those that cater especially to your requirements.
- Proper accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with a disability. Confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before reserving a rental.
- Do your family pets travel with you? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Extra fees or might be applied to your contract.
More considerations for your visit:
- Get the owner's contact number and check in/check out procedures for your . We recommend storing the host's information in your smartphone.
- To make sure damages aren't linked to your visit, inspect the property for any problem areas upon your arrival. Get in touch with the host immediately to relay any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having the recorded problems and contact attempts will be very helpful.
- Property managers are great sources of help! Don't be shy to ask questions during your stay.
- Be respectful of your neighbors. Often, adjacent homes are filled by local residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Locals can typically point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to order the best nachos, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Ensure you protect the rental owner (and your things!) by locking the property while you are away, just like you would at home.
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, take a walk through the rental property to reconfirm you've collected all personal items. Re-check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Please make sure to walk through the rental a final time and look for any damage. We recommend walking through with the host whenever possible. If the property manager isn't available, ensure that you take video of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- Did your group have a excellent vacation? Most rental websites make it easy for guests to provide reviews. If your rental and/or property management company was wonderful, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was amiss and they failed to fix it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
