Tips to get the very best vacation rental experience:
Get the best value:
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months in coastal SC. Reserving a rental home in Spring or Fall is our favorite way to save money on your vacation rental. Rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of desirable properties.
- Book your vacation rental as early as possible. Rental schedules generally open a year in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many families reserve their Summer vacation rentals during Christmas and Thanksgiving gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective vacation rental company or host whether your vacationing group qualifies for a special promotion or discount.
- Property management companies typically offer guests an option to obtain vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which costs between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for specifics.
- Often, rental management companies and vacation rental houses supply Charleston area area visitors guides that include special offers, either offered independently by local companies, or through a relationship with the property management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
How to pick the best vacation home in Isle of Palms:
- Choose a group leader, select your trip dates, and select a maximum budget.
- Beachfront Condo w\/ Communal Pool Access has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Charleston area rentals search.
- Precise details about bedrooms and bed counts & types is usually available on booking websites. If not, contact the host before booking the home. Note that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds and bunks. You'll need to work out what configuration is suitable for your family.
- If there's a specific Charleston area destination you crave, search for homes that are either nearby, or those that cater especially to your desires.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. Confirm all necessary amenities are included before booking.
- If your family is vacationing with pets, filter your search for a pet-friendly rental. Ask for specifics on breed, size, and type restrictions. Some hosts charge additional pet fees.
Have a great stay:
- Review check in & check out procedures before leaving home. Take a printed copy, and save the instructions to your phone.
- To ensure that damages aren't attributed to your family's visit, make note of any problem areas during check in. E-mail the property manager immediately to report any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having a record of problems and contact attempts will be useful.
- Hosts are great sources of help! Feel free to ask any questions during your stay.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll enhance your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors can be a fantastic resource to find the best local beaches and hangouts.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Neighbors can frequently help. Who better to ask where to grab the best tacos, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Ensure you protect the owner (and your stuff!) by locking the rental when you are out, just like you would at home.
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, walk through the rental to reconfirm you've collected all of your things. Make sure to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Did your family have a great stay? Most rental managers make it easy for vacationers to provide reviews. If your property and/or property manager was wonderful, they would love to hear about it. If anything was out of order and they failed to fix it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
