Tricks and tips to get the best Isle of Palms vacation property experience:

Money saving strategies:

  • The earlier you can book a rental home, the easier your search will be. The best rental homes are reserved very early. Reserving your vacation home up to twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental.
  • June, July, and August are high season in the Charleston area area. Booking a rental in Fall or Spring is an excellent way to save on your vacation rental. Rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of suitable homes.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner or host if your vacationing group qualifies for a price reduction.
  • Property management companies typically offer guests an option to obtain trip insurance. Trip insurance, which generally will cost you 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed vacation time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for program terms and fees.
  • Look for your local Charleston area area magazine upon arrival. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local information, travel guide magazines have money saving offers on nearby tours, shops, and attractions.

Choosing and booking your Charleston area rental:

  • Choose a group leader, select your trip dates, and select a maximum budget.
  • Determine how many beds and the configuration your group needs. Top Floor Oceanfront Penthouse - NEW LISTING - Pool, Views, Playground! has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rentals search.
  • Precise details about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is often accessible on booking websites. If they are not listed, email or call the property manager before you book your home. Note that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which usually includes pull-out couches.
  • If your family is vacationing with pets, you will need a property that allows animals. Get information on breed, size, and type requirements. Note that some hosts charge additional pet fees.
  • If there's a specific Charleston area attraction you crave, browse properties that are either near by, or those that cater especially to your desires.
  • Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. .

Tips for your stay:

  • Get the host's contact number and entry/exit procedures for your rental home. Store the manager's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • Property managers are great sources of help! Don't be shy to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Lock your rental home while you are out. Keep your property safe!
  • Upon check-in, document any issues with the rental property and immediately contact the property manager. Record all coorespondence.
  • Respect the neighborhood. Often times, surrounding homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking rules is the right thing to do.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Residents can usually point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to charter a fishing boat, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
  • At departure, complete a final walk-through to make sure you didn't forget anything. Check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Please make sure to walk through the rental one final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We suggest walking through with the host whenever possible. If the property manager is not available, ensure that you take photos of the rental to record its condition.
  • Did your group have a wonderful stay? Most rental management companies make it easy for customers to provide reviews. If your rental property and/or property manager was fantastic, they would love to hear it. If anything was out of order and they failed to address it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
