How to find the best rental home experience:

Cost saving strategies:

  • The sooner your group can book a rental home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable rental properties are booked early. Reserving your vacation home six - twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and book your rental property.
  • To find the best vacation home within budget, we suggest reserving in Spring or Fall. You'll benefit from lower rental rates, better selection, warm weather and the absence of giant crowds at popular Charleston area attractions and restaurants. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Charleston area vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with friends and family at your favorite beach.
  • Property management companies sometimes offer special rates for veterans and active duty military. Check with your host or property manager to see if special offers are available for your family before you book.
  • Property management companies frequently offer renters an option to obtain trip insurance. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost you 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for details.
  • Find a copy of your local Charleston area visitors guide upon arrival. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great articles, travel guides have deals for nearby accommodations, tours and attractions.

How to choose the perfect rental in the Charleston area area:

  • Choose a designated group leader, choose your dates, and select a spending budget.
  • Perfect for Honeymooners! has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is generally available online. If you don't see them listed, call the property manager before booking the vacation property. Note that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds.
  • Some rental properties allow pets, but some don't. Allowable types of family pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and added costs may apply. Ask the property management company about allowable breeds and types before booking.
  • Visiting for a single event? Use a map search to browse nearby rentals.
  • Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. Make certain to inquire about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.

During your stay:

  • Take a copy of the owner's contact number and check in/check out procedures for your rental.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, television set or appliance. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief call can prevent a lot of concerns.
  • Lock your vacation home while you are away. Keep your property safe!
  • At Check-in, note any issues with the rental property and immediately alert the owner. Keep records of all coorespondence.
  • Don't forget to respect your neighbors. Frequently, adjacent homes are filled by local residents. Respecting noise limits and parking regulations reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Locals can typically help. Who better to ask where to get the best seafood, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
  • Double-check the rental property to make sure that you've packed all of your belongings at check-out. Check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • After your trip, leave feedback! Hosts rely on excellent reviews to compel more reservations. They'll be grateful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other vacationing families will will be grateful for your review and help them have the best future vacation. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to remedy it.
