Tricks and tips for getting the perfect Charleston area rental home experience:

Getting the best rental home value:

  • In the Charleston area area, The sooner your group can book a rental home, the better your selection will be. The best vacation rentals are booked very early. Booking your rental property six - twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental property.
  • June, July, and August are high season in Charleston. Book your Charleston area rental home in Fall or Spring months to enjoy warm weather while saving money and avoiding crowds. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Charleston area vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with loved ones at the beach.
  • Some owners offer discounts or promotional rates for active duty military and veterans. Remember to ask your host or property manager if special discounts are available for your family.
  • Property managers frequently offer their guests an option to obtain trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed vacation time as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for specifics.
  • Find a copy of your local visitors guide when you check-in. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great local stories, visitors guides contain coupons for nearby restaurants, attractions, and tours.

Planning and picking the perfect Charleston area vacation home:

  • Choose a group leader, choose your trip dates, and select a budget.
  • Sleeps 16
  • Specific details about bedrooms and bed counts & types is almost always available online. If not, email or call the property manager before you book the vacation home. Note that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull-out couches. You will need to determine which bed configuration is optimal for your vacation group.
  • Are you bringing the family pet? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Pet fees or costs might be applied to your invoice.
  • Is your family looking for particular amenities? Most rental search websites include search filters with amenity lists. Amenity filters help you quickly remove less-optimal properties.
  • Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for persons with a disability. .

More considerations for your visit:

  • Take a copy of the host's contact number and check in/check out procedures for your . We recommend storing the manager's contact information in your smartphone.
  • Property managers are great sources of help! Feel free to ask any questions during your stay.
  • Protect the owner (and your stuff!) by locking and securing the home when you are gone, just like you would back home.
  • To ensure that damages are not linked to your stay, note any problem areas when you arrive. Call the host right away to document any issues. If there is a dispute, having the recorded issues and contact attempts will be helpful.
  • Respecting quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay more pleasurable. You'll enhance your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors can be an excellent source for finding the best local beaches and restaurants.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Residents can usually help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to get the best seafood, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
  • Double-check the property to make sure that you've packed all of your belongings on check-out day. Make sure to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Inspect the property a final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We advise walking through with the property manager whenever possible. If the host isn't available, take video of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
  • Remember to leave feedback! Property managers rely on good reviews to inspire new reservations. They'll be much obliged for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other vacationers will be thankful you shared your experience and help them have the best future vacation. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to fix it.
