Finding the best vacation rental experience:

How to get the best rental value:

  • Summertime is the most expensive season along the coast of SC. Reserve your rental home in Spring or Fall to get the benefit of beautiful weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to book a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer months. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Charleston area vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with loved ones at your favorite beach.
  • The earlier your group can reserve a vacation rental, the easier your search will be. The best rental properties are reserved very early. Reserving your vacation home up to 12 months before your vacation dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to search for and reserve your vacation home.
  • Owners sometimes offer discounts for active duty military and veterans. Make sure to check with your property manager to see if special offers are available for your family before you book.
  • Booking websites usually offer guests an option to add vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for more information.
  • Often, rental management companies and vacation rental houses supply Charleston area area visitors guide magazines which will include money-saving offers, either offered directly by local businesses, or by way of a relationship between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Charleston area visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.

Make a plan and choose your prefectrental:

  • Start by selecting your a vacation week and a spending budget.
  • Note the number bedrooms and the configuration you need. Clean, Beachy, Amazing Waterview \nNear Folly Beach & Downtown Charleston has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Charleston area rental home search.
  • Precise details about bedrooms and bed counts is normally accessible on booking websites. Otherwise, call the property manager before you book your rental. Remember that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds and bunks. You'll need to establish which bed configuration is optimal for your vacation group.
  • Does your family require special amenities? Most websites include search filters with amenity lists. Filtering by amenity will allow you to quickly find your ideal rental home.
  • Suitable accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for those with limited mobility. Confirm all required amenities are available and included before reserving a rental.
  • Are you bringing the family pet? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Ask your property manager before booking, and study your rental agreement! Pet fees or charges might be applied to your contract.

More considerations for your visit:

  • Get the property manager's contact number and check in/check out procedures for your rental home. Put the host's information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • To make sure that damages aren't attributed to your stay, inspect the rental for any problem areas upon your arrival. Get in touch with the rental manager right away to document your findings. If there is a dispute, having a record of issues and contact attempts will be useful.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, stereo or washer/dryer. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief telephone call can prevent a lot of concerns.
  • Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll enhance your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors can be a terrific source for finding the best local scenic spots.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Local residents can usually help. Who better to ask where to get the best breakfast in town, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fine dining?
  • Lock your vacation home while you are out. Protect your property!
  • Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, take a walk through the rental property to make sure you've collected all personal belongings. Make sure to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • Did you have a excellent vacation? Most rental managers make it easy for vacationers to provide reviews. If your property and/or property manager was great, they would love to hear it. If anything was imperfect and they failed to address it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
