Tips and Tricks to get the very best rental experience:

How to get the best rental value:

  • In the Charleston area area, The sooner you can book a vacation home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable vacation homes are reserved early. Reserving your rental home up to 12 months before your vacation dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to search for and reserve your vacation home.
  • Summer time is high season in the Charleston area area. Booking a rental in Fall or Spring is our favorite way to save money on your rental home. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of suitable homes. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to reserve a beach front rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the high season. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Charleston area vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with loved ones at the beach.
  • Owners sometimes offer discounts or promotional rates for veterans and active duty military. Check with your property manager to see if discounts are available for your group before you book.
  • Booking websites frequently offer renters an option to add trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed trip time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for additional information.
  • Find a copy of your local visitors guide when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local articles, visitor guides contain discounts for local shops and restaurants.

Planning and picking your prefectrental home:

  • Start by selecting the best vacation week and a budget.
  • Decide how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your group needs. Deluxe Two Bedroom Suite - Steps to King Street has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rental home search.
  • Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed counts & types is generally available on booking pages. Otherwise, email the property owner before you book the vacation home. Remember that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which frequently includes pull-out couches and bunk beds.
  • If your group is vacationing with pets, you will need a rental that allows animals. Request specifics on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Be aware that some property owners charge additional pet fees.
  • Is your family looking for specific amenities? Most rental websites include amenity lists and search filters.
  • Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Confirm all required amenities are available before booking.

Have a fantastic stay:

  • Be sure you get the property manager's phone number and check in/check out procedures for your . We recommend storing the manager's information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • Property managers are there to help! Feel free to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Lock your rental while you are out and about. Keep your property safe!
  • At Check-in, note any issues with the rental property and immediately alert the property manager. Keep records of all coorespondence.
  • Respect the neighborhood. Frequently, adjacent homes are filled by local residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking regulations can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Residents can frequently help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to find the best seashells, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
  • Re-check the vacation property to confirm that you've packed all belongings at check-out. Remember to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Inspect the property one final time and look for any damage. We recommend walking through with the host whenever you can. If the manager is not available, ensure that you take video of the property to record its condition at check-out.
  • After your trip, leave a review! Property managers rely on excellent reviews to inspire new bookings. They'll be much obliged for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other families will be thankful you shared your review and help them have the best future vacation. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to remedy it.
