Charleston area rental home booking tips:

Sticking to your rental budget:

  • In the Charleston area area, The earlier you can book a rental home, the easier your search will be. The best properties are booked early. Reserving your rental six - twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental property.
  • Summer is the most expensive season in the Charleston area area. Book your Charleston area rental home in the Spring or Fall to enjoy gorgeous weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to book a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the Summer months. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Charleston area vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with friends and family at the beach.
  • Some hosts and property managers offer discounts for veterans. It's always a good idea to check with your property manager to see if discounts are available for your group before you book.
  • Property managers frequently offer guests an option to obtain vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed days as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for specifics.
  • Look for your local visitors guide upon checking in. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local articles, visitor guides have offers and deals for local accommodations and attractions.

Make a plan and pick the perfect Charleston area rental home:

  • Choose dates and max budget.
  • Determine how many bedrooms and the configuration your family requires. Prime Access to KING STREET - Downtown 2 Bedroom! has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is commonly accessible on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, call the property owner before reserving the vacation home. Remember that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which typically includes pull-out couches and bunk beds.
  • Some properties allow pets, and others don't. Acceptable types of dog or cat, size and breeds may be restricted, and added costs may apply. Ask the property manager about allowable breeds and types before booking.
  • If there's an individual Charleston area attraction you love, look for rentals that are either nearby, or those that cater to your needs.
  • Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for the less-mobile. Confirm all required amenities are included before reserving a rental.

More tips for your visit:

  • Store the manager's contact information in your smartphone.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, elevator or kitchen appliance. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief telephone call can prevent quite a few issues.
  • Keep the property locked while you are out! Don't let burglars spoil your trip.
  • Document any damages to the property at check in, and immediately send them to the property manager. We specifically recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that can be very helpful if damages are attributed to your stay.
  • Respecting quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You will increase your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are a terrific resource to find the best local restaurants, beaches, and hangouts.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Residents can typically help. Who better to ask where to rent beach equipment, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, take a walk through the property to reconfirm you've collected all of your things. Check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Walk through the property a final time and look for any damage. We advise walking through with the host whenever possible. If the manager is not available, take photos of the rental to record its condition.
  • After your trip, leave feedback! Property owners rely on great ratings to drive more bookings. They'll be thankful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other families will appreciate that you share your feedback find their best vacation home. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to remedy it.
