Charleston area rental home booking tips:
Money saving strategies:
- In the Charleston area area, The sooner you can reserve a vacation home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable rental properties are booked early. Reserving your vacation home six to twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to plan and reserve your vacation rental.
- Summer is the most expensive season in the Charleston area area. To find the most suitable vacation home for your budget, we highly recommend reserving in Fall or Spring. You'll enjoy lower rates, better selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of large crowds at your favorite Charleston area restaurants and activities. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the Summer months.
- Hosts and Property managers sometimes offer promotional rates for veterans and active duty military. Remember to ask your host or property manager if special offers are available for your group.
- Booking websites often offer guests an option to purchase trip insurance. Trip insurance, which will generally cost 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for more information.
- Many rental management companies and vacation rental houses supply Charleston area area visitor guide magazines that include special offers, either offered independently by local companies, or through a relationship with the management company and the business itself. You can also find Charleston area visitors guide and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
Planning and choosing the bestrental:
- Choose your vacation week and maximum budget.
- Decide how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your group requires. Perfectly centered between Historic Downtown Charleston and Folly Beach has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Charleston area rental home search.
- Specific details about bedrooms and bed counts & types is generally available online. Otherwise, email or call the host before you book your rental. Remember that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds in living rooms.
- If your family is vacationing with pets, filter your search for a rental that allows animals. Ask for information on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Often, property managers require additional pet deposits and fees.
- If there's a particular Charleston area destination you love, search for homes that are either close by, or those that cater especially to your desires.
- Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. Make certain to ask about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
Advice for a smooth stay:
- Get the owner's contact number and entry/exit procedures for your rental home.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, stereo or coffee maker. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief phone call prevents lots of issues.
- Lock your rental home while you're out. Keep your property safe!
- At Check-in, make note of any damages to the property and immediately alert the owner. Record all correspondence in case a dispute arises.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You will enhance your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are a terrific resource to find the best local attractions.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Residents can often help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to find the best bike paths, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, walk through the rental property to make sure you've collected all personal belongings. Make sure to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Did your family have a fantastic vacation? Most vacation rental websites make it easy for travelers to provide feedback. If your property and/or host was wonderful, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was imperfect and they failed to fix it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
