When to reserve a Charleston area rental home & When to go:
- Summertime is the most expensive season in Charleston. To book the best rental within your budget, we suggest reserving in the Spring or Fall. You'll enjoy lower rental rates, better selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of large crowds at Charleston area restaurants, beaches, and activities.
- In the Charleston area area, The sooner your group can reserve a home, the better your selection will be. The best vacation rentals are booked early. Reserving your vacation home 6-12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to search for and book your rental.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner if your group qualifies for a price reduction.
- Booking websites usually offer renters an option to add vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for specifics.
- Often, management companies and vacation rental houses supply Charleston area area travel guides which include special deals, either offered directly by local companies, or by way of a relationship between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Charleston area visitors guide and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
How to choose the best vacation rental in Charleston:

- Decide how many bedrooms and the bed configuration you need. ON THE MARKET - CHARMING STUDIO IN THE HEART OF HISTORIC DOWNTOWN! has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is normally accessible online. If they are not listed, contact the host before booking the property. Note that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which typically includes pull-out couches. You will need to determine what bed configuration is best for your family.
- Does your group require unique amenities? Most websites include amenity lists and search filters. Amenity filters help you quickly remove less-optimal properties.
- Proper accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. Confirm all required amenities are available and included before reserving a rental.
- Are you traveling with furry, four-legged family members? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Ask your property manager before booking, and study your rental agreement! Extra fees or charges applied to your contract.
Considerations for your stay:
- Store the host's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
- Note any issues with the property during check in, and immediately e-mail them to the property manager. We specifically recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that can be useful if there is a dispute.
- Property managers are great sources of help! Feel free to ask questions during your stay.
- Respect the neighborhood. Often, surrounding homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking rules reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Neighbors can typically help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to find the best seashells, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Lock your rental while you are out and about. Keep your property safe!
- Re-check every room of the property to make sure that you've packed all belongings at check-out. Make sure to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Remember to leave feedback! Property managers rely on excellent ratings to propel future bookings. They'll be much obliged for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went awry, other families will be thankful you shared your experience find their best vacation rental. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to solve it.
