Booking the best vacation property experience:

Find your perfect vacation home:

  • Booking your Charleston area vacation rental in Fall or Spring months is an excellent way to save on your rental home. Rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of suitable homes. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to reserve a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Charleston area vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with loved ones at the beach.
  • The earlier you can reserve a vacation home, the easier your search will be. The best rental properties are reserved early. Booking your rental six to twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and reserve your vacation rental.
  • Property managers sometimes offer special rates for veterans. It's always a good idea to check with your host or property manager to see if special discounts are available for your group.
  • Booking websites frequently offer their guests an option to add trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which commonly costs between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed vacation time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for specifics.
  • Find a copy of your local Charleston area visitors guide magazine upon arrival. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great articles, visitor guide magazines contain deals for nearby tours, shops, and attractions.

Filter your search:

  • Choose your dates and spending budget.
  • Note the number bedrooms and the bed configuration your family requires. Galapagos
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is normally available online. If not, contact the property management company before you reserve the vacation home. Note that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which usually includes pull-out couches.
  • Looking for particular amenities? Most rental websites include search filters with amenity lists. Amenity filters help you quickly remove less-optimal properties.
  • Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. Make certain to inquire about wheel chair accessibility, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
  • Some rentals allow pets, and others do not. Allowable types of dog or cat, size and breeds may be restricted, and additional fees may apply. Ask the property manager about allowable breeds and types before booking.

Additional considerations:

  • We recommend storing the manager's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • Note any issues with the property during check in, and immediately send them to the host. We especially recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that can be valuable if damages are assessed.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a garage door opener, elevator or WIFI setup. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief phone call prevents a lot of issues.
  • Respect the neighborhood. Often, adjacent homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking rules is the right thing to do.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Local residents can often help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to find the fresh catch of the day, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
  • Lock your rental property while you're out! Don't let burglars spoil your holiday.
  • Just prior to departing, complete a final walk-through to confirm you did not forget anything. Re-check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Inspect the rental a final time and keep an eye out for damage. We suggest walking through with the property manager whenever possible. If the manager isn't available, remember to take video and pictures of the rental to record its condition.
  • Leave feedback! Hosts rely on good reviews to drive more reservations. They'll be grateful for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other families will will be grateful for your review find their best vacation rental. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to solve it.
