Charleston area vacation rental tips:

When to visit Charleston & When to book:

  • To find the most suitable rental within your budget, we strongly suggest booking in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons. You'll benefit from lower rates, greater selection, beautiful weather and the absence of large crowds at the beach and popular attractions. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to reserve a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the high season.
  • Book your vacation home as soon as possible. Rental schedules often become available twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many families reserve their Summer vacations during holiday gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective vacation rental company or host if your vacationing group qualifies for a price reduction.
  • Booking websites often offer customers an option to purchase trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost you anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed days as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for more information.
  • Many rental management companies and vacation rental houses supply Charleston area area visitors guides which will include coupons, either offered directly by local companies, or through a relationship between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Charleston area area magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.

Selecting the perfect vacation home in the Charleston area area:

  • Select vacation dates and max budget.
  • Determine how many bedrooms and the configuration your group requires. Charming Private Suite Close to Beach & Downtown has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our search.
  • Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is regularly available on booking websites. Otherwise, email the property management company before you reserve the rental. Note that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds. You'll need to establish what bed configuration is best for your vacation family.
  • If there's a certain Charleston area beach you are enamored with, look for homes that are either nearby, or those that cater especially to your needs.
  • Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. Make certain to inquire about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
  • Are you bringing the family pet? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Remember to ask your host before booking, and study your agreement! Additional pet fees or might be applied to your invoice.

Advice for your stay:

  • Take a copy of the owner's contact number and check in/check out procedures for your rental property.
  • To ensure that no damages are attributed to your family's visit, note any problem areas upon check in. message the host right away to report any damages. If there is a dispute, having the recorded issues and contact attempts will be helpful.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, television set or appliance. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief call prevents lots of concerns.
  • Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. You'll increase your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are often a great resource to find the best local restaurants, beaches, and hangouts.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Locals can usually point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to get the best breakfast in town, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fishing?
  • Lock your rental property while you're out! Don't let thieves ruin your trip.
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, walk through the property to confirm you've collected everything. Remember to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Go through the property one final time and look for damages to contents or the property itself. We advise inspecting the property with the host whenever you can. If the host is not available, remember to take photos and video of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
  • After your trip, leave feedback! Property owners rely on excellent ratings to inspire future reservations. They'll be grateful for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other families will be thankful you shared your review find their best rental home. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to fix it.
